A park of contradictions. The modern bath house was clean as could be expected. Signs reminded campers to social distance, and pointed out amenities not cleaned regularly (ie. water tap and play ground.) Playground and equipment was in good condition. No ranger on site, just a camp host. RV/electric portion of the campground was open and neat, with few trees. The tent/non-electric campsite we had reserved was the dirtiest campsite I have encountered in years. My family spent 30-40 minutes picking up broken glass, broken balloons, food wrappers, bottle caps and an 8 foot length of construction-grade chain. Broken tree limbs were hanging loose from the trees around us and I worried they would fall in a wind. No problem; the trees blocked any sort of breeze from reaching us. Train noises lasted late into the night; as late as 1am on one of the nights...

This is my problem, how can you reserve a RV site, but the tent sites are walk-in only and unreservable. This is crap, and I feel that it is kind of prejudice that you can reserve a site if you own an RV. I think that all of the sites should be reservable, or none of the sites should be. So your telling me its okay to drive 200 miles in the hopes of getting a site, but since you tent your out of luck, but we will make sure your okay if you have an RV. I know that you can reserve a few tent sites, all primitive and the crappy ones. So thanks George Wyth for ruining my day and my daughters birthday weekend, I was going to camp here, but I will find a nicer park, that is not run ragged, to stay with my family and have a...

We have a pickup camper, the site was very much dome shaped in terrain so trying to get the camper level without the back of the truck bed being excessively high off the ground was very annoying. I didn't really care either way if there was a cooking grate on the fire ring, but the grate that was there was bent all to heck. I know there's only so much they can do about mosquitos, but good Lord, thought I was going to get carried off by them when trying to use the bathroom or shower. Did not see any water spickets other than over by the shower house. I don't expect that they can have one at every site, but a few scattered around would have been nice unless I...

Nice park and campground. Sites are spaced well. If you don't want electric hookup, there are some beautiful spots on the river! Shower house is clean and private stalls. Could use more room for changing, but just fine. There is a potable water faucet at the dump station. GREAT bike trails and well maintained hiking trails., too. There is a near-by airport, highway and railroad so occasionally there is noise but nothing too bad. Oh, and Cedar Falls downtown is just 5 mins from the park entrance. Good fun there too. A couple tasty breweries and restaurants. Pics are from around the park mid-July.

I loved the George Wyth beach and park when I was living in Waterloo Iowa it was fun at the park because there is a playground and you can fish there and grill out there and at the beach you could buy snacks and food and fish bait and drinks and you can rent some things to play on and you can even fish there to. I live with my fiance and our daughter her name is lily she is 3 mouth's she will be 4 mouths on this Friday on the 22ed I live in Manitowoc Wisconsin now that's why if my mom and dad and brothers if they go there I am not with them when they go. This is our daughter 😊

Overall an awesome park, lots of river access and several lakes. Great bike paths, very scenic. As for camping, the campground is rather small and tight. However, there are a few sites along the river that can accommodate a small camper. No electricity, but the view is awesome! We had site 18, loved it. Fished right behind the camper and caught a few walleye. A pair of bald eagles were right across from us and even came down to bathe in the river. Be aware, the park, and especially the campground map, is WAY off for scale, everything is a lot closer than shown.
