Tricky place to rate. 5 stars for stellar scenery (better than Th. Roosevelt park), nice campground with flat spots for tenting, but lacks info on trails and access. Read on other sites that trails are not well marked, so we did not attempt to find them. Tip for anyone using google maps to go from here to North unit of Th. Roosevelt park: do NOT choose the shortest route option (the one that is around 38 mi instead of like 55)!!! About halfway over, you will have to turn back because the road it wants you to use is a private road with...

If you like crowds the camper/cabin scene is intense. Tent camping area was lovely and spacious...bc there were only 2 tents. Thank goodness bc most of the tent area, although lovely with lots of trees and right on the water, is mostly very hilly...only room for maybe 4 tents...and only about 4 moveable tire rim fire pits anyway. Great weekend but no need to go again, unless a last minute easy thing. Showers and vault toiltes need painting and new floors and doors but they're fixing up things. Nice new bar and...

Only stayed here one night on the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. What a gem! Nice campsites with 50/30/20A electric. Each site has picnic table and fire ring. Water spigots but not individual water hookups. Nice showers - free for campers. Vault toilets. Dump station. Picnic shelters. This was designed as a campground for folks with trail horses - there are corrals and horse trails. Not much shade, but beautiful grass throughout. Beautiful views of Little Missouri...

This park is one of the very unique parks in North Dakota. not only is a stunningly beautiful, but it is wonderful for hiking, and particularly for horseback riding. There are both primitive and modern campsites available with electricity. There are relatively modern out houses. And the showers are absolutely wonderful. It's $0.50 for every 4 minutes. Whether you are attempting, or with a camper, this park should be on your list. The scenery is what we call savagely beautiful.

We were told that water & electric was available on a large available site. We entered on a two mile dirt road that is capable of traffic one way to the park. A very beautiful park EXCEPT not for a 40 foot motorhome. Only electricity was available and on an uneven lot. Great for small campers, tents & horse trails. Park host misinformed us of the ability to handle a large rig…Had to leave!
