Lakewood Forest Preserve Winter Sports Area — Attraction in Wauconda

Great park for winter activities. Right beside the big parking lot are a ice skating rink and a big sledding hill. Everything is very convenient. We went Cross country skiing. About 4 miles are groomed for skiing going through a mixture of wooded areas, lakes and prairie. Very scenic. we will be back with the children next time and do multiple winter activities. One mile loop is lighted and closes later, around 9 pm I believe. I really recommend this park for anyone wanting to enjoy the outdoors...

A great local park hear in wauconda. There's several fishing spots and we'll tended limestone trails for walking and biking. The park is actively being improved with new seating and more visually impressive. Lots of nice space for a picnic or a friendly outing.
