Waukee Public Library — Attraction in Waukee

Nice, smaller public library. The staff were incredibly helpful! They gave me a mini tour of the library and even helped me with the self check out when a book wouldn't scan and my hands were full. My preschooler enjoyed the toys available for her to play with. There is an infant play area available for parents and their infants/toddlers with an interactive wall. Their children's graphic novel section is quite impressive!

I do think it may be useful to have more seating available for parents in the kids section of the library instead of just a bench by the infant area.

Overall, it's a nice library that will be a regular destination...

went to the library today with my brothers and was very surprised how we were bombarded with pride month materials, signs, and books that were in the majority of eye level places for kids. I almost wondered if it was OK to be a straight person in there. Celebrate whatever you want to celebrate, but I think the problem comes when you try to shove it down people’s throats by putting it everywhere which alienate everyone else. Not all kids are LGBTQ and they can have pride...

We feel so fortunate to live near this library. They are always doing fun things for the kids. I brought my toddler in prior to covid for the story and play times on a weekly basis. I ordered book bundles when they were closed and my son loved it. Now he is old enough where he enjoys going in and picking his own books out and stopping in for the storytime at home packet or elementary activity.
