Was at the Expo for Covid Shot and everything ran like clock work. There was someone outside to direct you inside when it was your time (so you didn't have to stand outside or wait in a large group). Once inside we were given directions of what would happen next, handed our paperwork & directed to the shortest line to wait for a nurse. The room was large enough for everyone to 'social distance' and the lines short so it was not a long wait for the shot. After the shot they have chairs spread out for you to wait 15 minutes before leaving and you are given a time and date for your second shot. The hardest part about the whole process happened BEFORE we got to the Expo-Center and that was getting the appointment in the first place. To me the sign up process was confusing and if it wouldn't have been for our daughters, we'd probably still be waiting. Our daughters signed us up online and I still have no idea where they found this sign-up page. Almost, every place wants people to sign-up online (Meijer, Walgreens) online and it's a confusing process for some seniors. The sign-up process seems haphazard and assumes everyone has the computer knowledge & (enough eye vision to read printing on websites) to find where their registration forms are located. It would be helpful to have a phone number to call to register...
Β Β Β Read moreWith regards to the recent hobby show held on Sunday, I was a bit disappointed with the turnout of the number of vendors and the unwillingness to make "deals" when it came down to purchasing multiple model kits. I fully understand that the vendors have money and time invested in their collections however, knowing that their asking 35 dollars for a well knowing that anyone could buy the same kit at a local hobby lobby store when they promote their 40% off sale you can go there and get it for far less then what the vendors are asking. And if hobby lobby can sell the same kit for 40% off and still show a profit, vendors beware. Yes, vendors need to show a profit as well but it's a hobby. And with these vendors charging there is no doubt that the hobby will die off because no one will be able to afford the model kits. If your a vendors and survive solely on the profit you make from selling model kits, you might want to consider a different occupation. The cost of living has impacted the world and has impacted people's "disposable" income as well....
Β Β Β Read moreWe recently had our daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception in the Expo Center's arena. This was a wonderful venue for the reception! There is plenty of space; therefore, the room can be configured in a variety of ways, and the room was absolutely beautiful with the curtain lights hanging on the walls (to see the difference the curtain lights make in the room, I'm posting a picture that was taken when we were still setting up). We received many, many compliments about the space, and people were stunned at the transformation of the arena; it was just lovely. The fact that the arena is round makes it a unique and comfortable space. There is ample and easy parking, the sound system is terrific, the facilities are exceptionally clean, and the staff is completely wonderful and accommodated us in every way possible. We had an excellent experience from beginning to end, and we would highly recommend the Expo Center for a...
