We have visited the American Winery & Brewery twice through the Harvest Host membership program. On both occasions, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were treated wonderfully by the staff and other patrons. The employees were very informative about the different beverages and choices available. The owner and staff seemed genuinely pleased to see repeat business and noted that they remembered us from our previous visit. Most of the offerings at American Winery & Brewery fit my tastes. The selection of beers was good, and the vast majority of the available selection suited my particular tastes. I tend to favor the Wheat, Pilsner, and Ale beers avoiding some of the darker offerings. I am not exceptionally knowledgeable about beer in general other than I enjoy drinking it, and I found myself interested in the different selections. There is enough choice for a seasoned beer drinker and someone more casual about beer. We are not wine drinkers and can not comment on the wine with any reliable opinion. The American Winery & Brewery offers a Red, White, and Blue Wine Slushy as a house special. Even as a non-wine drinker, this was enjoyable, if somewhat potent, experience. Try one if you make the trip. The food offerings were excellent, and the selection was decent. The interiors, restrooms, and grounds are immaculately clean. The American Winery & Brewery offers live music, outdoor seating, and good parking for cars and RVs. Overnight RV parking can be arranged through the Harvest Host membership program.

We chose to stay at the American Winery/Brewery as part of the Harvest Host program. We have a 40 ft 5th wheel and this location was easy access from the highway. It had great space to park and turn the rig also. Upon arrival, we went in and were greeted by the owners, Tom & Betsy. They were very pleasant and Tom helped navigate the parking. We enjoyed a small dinner of light snacks and tasty wine. We live in the Grand River winery area of NE Ohio and enjoy local wines. We did the 21 flight and enjoyed many so bought a case of some mixed. They were very hospitable and visited with us while we enjoyed the clean and homey environment inside. They had a nice outside area and it appears they have entertainment on the weekends. We also met two other nice couples that were parking their RVs for the evening. Recommend supporting these hard working people and their great business.

Didn’t even know this brewery was here. I only found out about it because of the $3 off coupon we got at the gate for attending Midwest Geobash at the fairgrounds. I ended up choosing the 10 beer sampler. Just a side note…I have been to a lot of breweries before. Most breweries only half impress me with the quality of the beer, or worse. All 10 beers were really good (and some like John Wayne their triple Belgium, was the BEST triple I’ve ever had!) Beer after beer I was impressed by how much I liked them. There wasn’t any I wouldn’t drink again if I had the opportunity. I also had a Roast Beef panini sandwich and it W really hit the spot. Would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and want good beers and food. PS…I even came back a second time. Couldn’t leave town without another taste of the triple Belgium.

We spent the night in the parking lot of American Winery Brewery as they are gracious members of the Harvest Hosts community. Level gravel parking lot made backing up to the grapevines and setting the stabilizers a breeze. We enjoyed their beer and a couple appetizers, and wandered the grounds. Ended up meeting the couple from the rig that had pulled in before us. Enjoyed our visit with them as they were headed west and we, east.

The host, Tom, was great. Made us feel right at home.

I only gave them 4 stars for Access because it should be easy to get to just off the turnpike. However, our GPS originally took us to the address on Route 20. AW&B clearly say right on their instructions that it is on Alternate 20, so we were ready for our Garmin's mistake, and found the true location pretty quickly. Granted, it's not AW&B's fault that my Garmin went to the wrong spot, but just wanted to make the point...
