The Porch Venue — Attraction in Waxahachie

Been there twice and this place is so much fun!!!! Would recommend for beginners or pros who want to have a fun time shooting.

Scenery They do such a fantastic job with the scenery. The lights, tables, and shooting bays all come together to feel like a hidden little back patio where you can getaway from everything. Honestly I just wanted to sit around and talk with my friends for hours while admiring the atmosphere.

Games For the mixer they offer axe throwing and lawn games. The axes were a little dull but it was still a blast to throw as many as you want while you wait to shoot. The corn hole was set up real nice and they even had little games at the table to play.

Shooting Clay shooting was amazing!!! Hurt like hell but had so much fun missing 50 rounds. The staff made the experience welcoming, entertaining, and even motivated me to try harder when I shot.

Staff Hands down the best thing about this place. Everyone I interacted with was so funny and nice. For someone who doesn't shoot often they made me feel welcomed, helped me adjust my stance and aim, and made sure I was always doing okay. They put safety first but they enforced their rules in very polite and respectful way.

The Porch Venue was great! While visiting our son in Texas we went with him and two friends. It was a great night with great shooting. Everyone was very supportive of all involved. John is a fellow New Jerseyan and we had a great time catching him up on the “little” town we are all close to. Plenty of games to play while waiting. As a female it was great to have support from everyone (posting on my husbands name) everyone cheered for all the clays hit and always reassured us that if we miss this one there are more coming. They were very informative and instructed us, during the whole event we felt very safe with all the instructions and safety protocols. I highly recommend going to the Porch Venue for a great night out. We went in October, I suggest a sweatshirt, I was lucky enough to borrow one later in the night because the temperature dipped. Be prepared. They also supplied complimentary snacks and beverages for purchase. Non alcoholic of course. They accept cash and cards but suggest bringing smaller bills for drinks just in case they don’t have change. There is a port-a potty on premise, btw it is the CLEANEST port-a potty I have...

Alright, I fully went into this thinking it was going to be a let down, but boy was i wrong. It might seem expensive off the bat, but the experience did not disappoint. We had a party of 12 people, most of us had never shot a gun before and all but one of us are not by any means good shooters. The hosts were so much fun and created such a great vibe for the group. The venue was extremely nice and well set up, super professional. The whole event lasted about 3 hours, but time really felt like it flew by because we were having such a good time. For us newbies, the 50 clays was the perfect amount of shooting, if you're more of an avid shooter definitely go for the 100 clays. The hosts do a good job explaining and facilitating everything. They split the shooting into 2 halves which helps you get comfortable if you're nervous. We all shot so much better the second time around. But coming from someone who hit 1/25 clays on the first round, it's still fun (and worth the money) even if you don't hit anything.
