Only boat launch we use. If you use it often, definitely worth it to get the pass- may be worth it just to avoid the sometimes reoccurring technical difficulties you face at the gate. The only frustrating thing is the fact that it seems like only the locals know how to properly use the boat launch. I can't tell you how many times, on a hot, sunny, and of course very busy day at the launch, it's complete chaos.. There will be two boats parked on either side of the dock, waiting for either their trailer (or sometimes just the driver!), and there's a line of trucks with boats ready to launch, but there is no ramp open because so many people utilize the dock as a parking spot and hold up the whole line. It's really not that difficult: You launch your boat and then park it off to the side (or if you have another person they could even drive around a bit and then come pick you up). When you leave the ramp, it should be free for the next person to use. When coming in to the launch, again, quite simple: park off to the side or float around if able while the driver retrieves your trailer. When it is your trailer's turn at the launch, that is when you park by the dock. Bottom line? The boat launch is just that- A LAUNCH- not a parking spot or a prep zone. There are other labeled spots for that. Let's stop the madness.

Great park right on Gun Lake, as can be guessed from the name, with great lake views. It is small but has lots of picnic tables for seating. Some are under a pavilion that can be reserved. Many of the remaining are nicely shaded and have grills nearby. There is a tiny sandy beach with concrete border on the lake side. There is also a small size newer playground structure and some old swings. The restroom facility also looks newer. At one end of the park, there is a boat launch. There is plenty parking as well.

Public swimming, clean small Beach area. Picnic tables scattered with built in grills. There's a covered pavilion with lots of seating. Theres a very nice play set with swings and plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy if they were to ever get bored with swimming. Let me mention that this park is IDEAL for small children. My 6 yr old can walk all the way to the bouies! The park is shared with a public boat launch which you can access for a small fee. There is plenty of parking directly across the street. There is no on site parking, but literally right across the street. The lake is known to get swimmers itch it the dog days of summer so keep caution and if you or your little one is itchy and patchy it's probably swimmers itch. That goes for any lake that warms up really good. I ultimately recommend this park. I have been taking my children...
