Lake Cochituate — Attraction in Wayland

Beautiful lake with several large, connected "sublakes" surrounded by woods. Rent a boat or bring your own and explore them all. Cochituate State Park has affordable entrance fees and a sprawling sandy beach with lifeguards in the summer months. Fishing allowed everywhere. Large grass meadow adjacent to picnic area accommodates informal soccer games, frisbee, football, softball, etc. Family-friendly, lots of parking, several picnic tables, clean bathroom and changing facilities, water fountain, and junk food truck. Close to restaurants, fast food, shopping, etc. Located in a forest with several scenic hiking trails. Caution: fills up quickly on hot days...

So I drive 10 minutes I asked if it’s open the guard said yes okay just to find out I had to paid 8 dollars okay no problem I paid it when I go in the main area I find out the water is closed so no you cannot go in swimming u can just play around and have picnic. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I want my money back I paid 8 dollars to do the same thing I can do for free in a park 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ they should let people know the water is not open for swimming out here...

I just walked my dog the other day , great memories of taking my son and young cousins and friends to the lake , nice little trails , beautiful tress and flowering plants ... picnic tables and grills , what more do people want for...
