I come to this park to walk around after work because the scenery that is by the lake and the littleness of the park is just right if you want to not get lost at night in the woods. There is a little Gazebo near the water that has a table in it and when the sunsets, that's the front row seat to an amazing site. The path is graveled not paved so do not come with unsturdy shoes. This park is also a dog welcome area. It is actually called SunnyBank Dog Park because i believe there are pets buried in this area. Read moreLast night at Terhune Memorial park we had an outstanding free night of music under the stairs watching the Matt Oree Band. I’ve been a friend of Matt’s and been following him for many years now. My opinion Matt and his wife Erin are world Class talents. The rest of the band can rock with the best of them. They played originals for the first part then kicked it with Zeppelin tunes. The recreation department did a suburb job showcasing one of the best bands currently touring from New Jersey. Terhune is the author of "Lad, a Dog" and many other books, and was also a breeder of Collies at the Sunnybank kennels. Park contains graves of famous dogs from Terhune's books, and memorials from those that loved them. Quite beautiful real estate on a point on Pompton Lake.
