I would give Yesterday Spaces a 100/5 star rating if I could.
My experience with Yesterday Spaces - as a bride planning her own 60+ guest wedding in 7 months - was absolutely exceptional. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue that is professional yet personal and heartfelt, flexible, communicative, and VERY well-versed in the orchestration of weddings I would 100% recommend Arik and his team at Yesterday Spaces.
First, the property is incredibly beautiful. If you're looking for a naturally rustic and picturesque venue near Asheville this is a perfect option. When you book with Yesterday Spaces, you get the use of the entire venue property which includes multiple ceremony space options as well as unique features for a reception. I was also blown away by how much the price of the venue includes. There's a whole room FULL of decorations that you can use (or totally not use!) free of charge. Matching mason jars and vases, wooden signs, cake stands, wooden centerpiece cutouts, and so much more. We used a lot of these decorations for our reception and it looked so good. These decorations would have cost us a fortune to gather on our own. The additional features offered by the venue, all explained in detail during our first tour, were the initial selling point. There is no venue within 100 miles that offers so much for such a great price. Trust me, I've looked.
My experience planning the wedding was made easier by the staff at Yesterday Spaces. They are accommodating and flexible, not at all uptight about adjustments to ceremony or reception details. This attitude and confidence the staff displayed was extremely reassuring for me and my (at the time) fiance. We had never planned a wedding before and so sometimes didn't always know what to expect or anticipate. Working closely with Arik during an initial planning meeting and then our final planning meeting (all included in booking the venue, btw) was all we needed to feel excited and relaxed about our wedding day.
Yesterday Spaces brought our vision of love to life. I can so clearly remember Arik (the owner) standing high up on a ladder the day before the wedding, helping me to hang white drapes from the ceiling that would frame the dance floor. He was genuinely excited to see what it would look like because he hadn't seen it done before. I remember on the day of the wedding one of the staff members peeked into the house where my bridesmaids and I were staying to give us cute matching umbrellas so we stayed dry on the walk over to the ceremony barn. So many moments like this.
I didn't know to ask for the attention to detail and the professional, kind & genuine assistance Arik and his team gave us but we received it anyway. That's honestly just what you get with Yesterday Spaces and I am so grateful to have gotten married there. It was the best day of my entire life and I'll...
Read moreI was the maid of honor at a wedding this month, and honestly how unprofessional the staff was at this venue is appalling. The things that went wrong on this day was because of the venue staff and lack of communication. 1) The owner Arik agreed to have the gate open at 8am Saturday morning (wedding day) so that we could start with decor. we waited in the parking lot until 8:45 and had to call him, he didn't show up until 9:20. We ended up being about 1 1/2 hours behind all day because of this. 2) we had the wedding rehearsal on Thursday night, the wedding was on Saturday. There was a wedding on Friday, but we were told they would be outside and we were told we could go ahead and set up a few things in the ceremony barn. When we showed up Saturday morning, the arch we had set up was twisted and partially broken and shoved in a closet because the wedding on Friday had “decided” they wanted to use the ceremony barn. We were never told that the arch had been taken down and only found out when we walked in Saturday morning. 3) We started setting up at about 10am for the wedding, fixing the arch, decor, etc, and when we called about the arch, we were told crew wasn’t going to come in until 11. We did EVERYTHING. We set up the tables at the reception space, including taking chairs down, we put chairs up at the wedding barn, put the arch back up, and did ALL of our decor. This ended up putting us even more behind. I don’t think any of the girls were planning on sweating that much on that day. 4) We were getting hair and makeup done, getting dressed, and everything else, and they took 3 COUPLES ON WALKTHROUGH TOURS. WHILE WE WERE GETTING SET UP AND READY. If I rent out a space for my wedding, especially with how expensive this place is, I want the day to be about my party and my wedding, and I want the space for ourselves. That was the most unprofessional and appalling thing ever. 5) The bride had scheduled and booked the space MONTHS out, told Arik what tables she wanted, and had everything planned out. When we got there, the tables that she requested were not even in place, and I had to ask Arik (as the maid of honor) to fix the tables, cause y’all know good and well I am not going to move tables. What’s funny is, at that point, his crew STILL wasn’t there, (11:30 by this point) and he had to do it himself.
Overall, the wedding worked out great, but not thanks to the venue workers. They worked with out wedding director when time started getting closer to people showing up, but before that, it was all very rude and unprofessional of them. If the bridal party and parents hadn’t worked so hard, the wedding probably would have been a mess. IF YOU WANT TO DO ALL OF YOUR WORK ON YOUR WEDDING DAY,...
Read moreI have been praising Yesterday Spaces prior to my daughter’s and new son-in-law’s September 17, 2016 wedding and continue to do so. I have been walking on cloud nine since the festivities. Everything went as we had hoped. We chose Yesterday Spaces because we felt so comfortable that it was the perfect place to bring their plan to fruition while proving to be quite affordable. Guest after guest told us over and over how beautiful the day was. From day one Mike, Arik, Aaron, Renee, and the rest of the team made this hesitant hostess feel confident that the affair would be a wonderful success. Their calm support and care ensured that every detail was handled. The plan was for an outdoor ceremony, and Yesterday Spaces eliminated any concern that weather would cause issues as they provide the perfect solution with an alternate quaint indoor ceremony space. The outdoor ceremony went as planned just prior to sunset, and the view was picture perfect. Because the venue is rented for the entire day, the couple planned a pre-ceremony event with picnic faire which allowed all those who wanted more time together to have just that. It was a great time to take family and group photographs when all still looked fresh with no need for rushing and no reason for stress. The venue provides so many items including table ware, decorations, tables not requiring table cloths, sound systems, etc. keeping not only the cost low, but also eliminating so much work involving rentals, time, and manpower to coordinate. The well decorated venue has state of the art amenities as any fine reception hall including a large kitchen that is welcomed by catering companies. List of preferred vendors are shared giving a kick start to planning all that is required. Some of our guests expected to see hay in the reception hall since Yesterday Spaces is a working farm. There is no hay in the reception area although there is hay below the reception area with stalls housing adorable animals giving a clue that the location continues to be a working organic farm. The attention to detail continues even in the well-kept stall area as speakers play music from the above celebration. The bride and groom were thrilled that their celebration was all that they planned, and this mother of the bride is forever grateful to those at...
