Lovely site!!! A wagon is a MUST at this site. I got a $60 folding wagon on amazon and it saved us here. The walk to the dock from the parking area is a long zig zag sidewalk with walled edges. It is very cool but walking back up hill after diving is a bear with tanks and that is why the cart is magic!

There is a toilet and shower house. On the side of that building they installed an outdoor wash for gear and equipment. Park has built tank stands in the parking lot to help everyone suit up which is real nice. The parking fills up on weekends so get together early. There is a sign in sheet at the gate where $5 donation per vehicle. Must have cash! Put the hanger on your vehicle mirror, cause they DO check!

The site is deep, a nice wide mouth spring great for testing out gear or having fun in the 50' depth range. Someone told me there was 70' but i never saw that depth. Inside the spring there are a few hidden swim thru rooms back in to the left if you are standing on the stairs looking at the river. Single tank -do not try to squeeze in the cave. Nothing worth dying for in there... Silt was an issue so mind your buoyancy and stay off the bottom and the walls.

The surrounding area is large swim area of varying depth less than 15ft. In the shallows try to keep fins and feet off the bottom or you will ruin the viz for hours. There is an old ship wreck (the ribs remain) and normally lots of aquatic life. Good schools of fish and large turtles are common. This was a favorite for us. Enjoy!!!...

Nice scenic location. We dive here. Nice sandy bottom in the spring well so doesn't silt up as much as other areas with beginner divers. This last trip the spring run to river was very low I've been here before and when river is higher spring run is more interesting. Lots of turtles this trip have seen gar and other aquatic life in the past. It was a cold day so that may have influenced wildlife as tge springs maintenan a constant temperature. Nice bathrooms very clean this trip. Had a chat with the rangers thry were very nice. There is an issue with the entry/exit stairs as one side is closed due to the stringers under the steps rotted out and no money in the budget the park receives to complete the repairs. But in areas where they try to keep taxes low parks and rec are the areas that get cut first. It is a pretty hazardous situation from my understanding I hope they get some budget Money for...

This state park is fairly new and we'll maintained. They did a great job making it accessible to those with disabilities. The ramp seemed excessively long but it serves the purpose.

The spring is well maintained and they have added a buoy line across the spring cut at the rivers edge to keep the boats out. Which also protects remnants of the Civil War boat. By far my favorite part of this spring! The history that you can literally see right infron of you is amazing! The second coolest is the dozens of turtles that call this spring home! I have never seen this many turtles is the wild and so up close. The scuba diving here is good for beginners, very easy journey down to the spring at 75ish feet. All dependent on the rivers level. Not much to see but a easy amd...

Excellent deep and clear spring for snorkeling. The entrance/exit to the swimming area is just the boardwalk - the platform is closed/taped off and in a state of disrepair. This particular park is off the beaten path and not crowded. Lots of fish and turtles throughout spring area. Bathrooms appear to be pretty new and very clean. The "shipwreck" was a bit underwhelming. The spring itself is broad enough where you don't have to fight hard against the current to swim down deep. We saw a fawn and a family of turkeys with 7 chicks on the short drive to the parking lot from the entrance gate.

Getting to see part of The Madison wreck was GREAT! My 8yr old LOVED getting to go down and touch a piece of history like that. He was able to grab some of the nails and pull himself along the bottom.Theres also a shallow cutout of rocks like a cave that you can swim under. There are parts that are VERY deep, talking 40ft and there is a whole chunk of area thats 3-4ft deep. Family friendly and fun. The water is soooo clear too! (Plenty of footage on my gopro). Overall a really awesome spring and state park. We will definitely be back!
