Incredible mountain range views, perfect place to go and have a good and easy (not to mention feeling safe leaving your vehicle in the lot) The rangers base station is literally in the same area. Friendly guys who work as rangers that I met. Access to cross country skiing and ITS 89 snowmobile trail head is another great perk. I met some nice people walking there dogs, and the dogs of course couldn't help themselves but to run over and say hello with excitement, But my main bullet point is definitely a great picture setting on the snow covered range and the frozen lake is something to admire. Even if you don't enter the trail system to Ski / Hike or Snowmobile (as was my reason for visiting) you can still get good scenic pics from the car on the entry road.

Mt.Blue state park was incredible! We drove to the trailhead and I was glad we brought our atlas with us as we had no cell service. You have to go quite a ways down a fairly well maintained dirt road. I would definitely suggest going as slow as possible if you have a low sitting car but also so you can take in the beautiful scenery around you. The mt. Blue trail is 100% a strenuous climb and it took my partner and I a little over 2 hours to summit. There were sweat and tears (but I cry easily so don’t let that sway you)! The view made the climb absolutely worth it and while it was hard I would do it again in a heartbeat. On our way out we also saw a black bear on the access road so be aware that they are around. Fantastic experience overall!

Spacious and level sites with plenty of trees to separate the lots. They allow dogs. Quiet park at night. Kids loved riding bikes on the dirt roads during the days. Our site was on the top-most road, it appeared if you were closer to the lake the ground held some standing water and they likely had more mosquitos. Lots all provide part shade as well. Swim area, bath house, boat launch, playground available. They also sell bags of ice and bundles of firewood on site. No cellphone signal.

Absolute disappointment this year (2025). Did our yearly camping, and this year, the beach was covered in Dog poop. I watched in horror as children were playing in the sand. Was unable to enjoy beach because of this. The lawn at the beach was the same way, dog poop every where. Swimming was not enjoyable either. To many floating devices with adults drinking and floating around kids and beach goers. Lots of inappropriate behaviors and language. It was an everyday accurate during our stay. The campsite was nice and could have been enjoyed except for the constant loud parties and more inappropriate actions and words, until 12 and 1 o'clock. It was bad enough we packed up early and left before our vacation was over. Also had issue trying to rent a boat for evening fishing. Couldn't rent past 3:30 in the afternoon cause they were not gonna be there after 4. Seriously it was a Tuesday. Webb lake has great fishing, always enjoyed that, but not this time. I used to love and cherish our yearly camping trip to Mt. Blue, but I can not see us returning. From a great family orientated State Park, to a local backwoods dumping ground, I DO NOT RECOMMEND MT.BLUE STATE PARK ESPECIALLY...

I was born and raised in maine, both the paternal and maternal sides of my family going back 3 or more generations, I live in ma now, for a multitude of reasons, and partly because I couldn’t stand mainer ignorance regarding my Deaf parents and our language and culture…..I’ve been going up to maine to camp summers for a long time different places for the past couple years I’ve gone to mt blue because my mother is from carthage and wanted to re-connect with relatives however this past time I encountered the rudest treatment from park rangers…one in particular who seemed to have a very personal problem with everything I said or did…..and was excruciatingly rude and racist toward my bi-racial children he even had the balls to bring up darwynism in reference to my bi-racial kids…. I won’t be staying there again and If you are of color or maybe white with children of color I wouldn’t stay there If I was you believe me you’re not welcome there…the racism and bigotry was unparalleled to anywhere else I’ve experienced so far...

Well kept and nice place.... Pros: -well kept with sites a “decent” distance apart so you have some feeling of being in the woods. access to many great hiking/ trail areas great flat open space for kids/ people to bike. My son loves that. -facilities are nice.. -playground open... rental of Kayaks and canoes are convenient and nice with great swimming area

CON: -if you are in favor or are more into isolated campsites that are common in Maine you will find this busy -sites are close enough I could hear the guy in the next site snoring away. people running generators/ seemed 50% of people had dogs who barked early in the am. so not quiet to say the least.

In short, nice but in my view for the type of camper who does not like isolation and feels more comfortable with people and amenities. I won’t return because I love isolated camping where I “rough it” more, but for beginner campers or those who do not want to “rough it” to much a nice blend of nature and convenience!

Great friendly staff...
