I had taken my grandkids to kinetic Park because of all the hype about the grand opening of it. I was so disappointed with that park. It was hot and there’s no shade at all at kinetic Park. The splash pad was not open, so I told my grandkids that we were going to go somewhere close by that had a splash pad and I knew nothing about veterans tribute Park until then.a I loaded the grandkids back up in the car and we headed to veterans tribute. The only reason that I’m happy that we went to kinetic Park is because we ended up finding veterans tribute park because of it. It has the coolest splash pad! No hot surfaces for the kids feet. It also has an amazing playground, clean restroom that don’t smell funny, and a very nice walking trail as well as pavilions. Just a couple days ago I was asking my five-year-old granddaughter which is splash pad. They wanted to go to that day. I could not believe that she remembered the whole name...
Read moreThis has become our park of choice when my daughter wants playground time. It has two areas of focus: big kids and small kids. You can find slides, a merry-go-round for for all ages, single merry-go-rounds, rope climbing with rope bridge, a big hill with artificial turf to roll down on, an in season water play area, and a lookout area with binoculars (that work).

For those that haven't done a storybook walk, two pages of a book are posted around the trail so you and your kids can read and walk. The stories are updated every 1 or 2 weeks.
And for photography enthusiasts, you'll find interesting spots for portraits.
Bathrooms seem to be closed during winter. So plan...

The lake (with catch-and-release fishing) is substantially large for that endeavor. The loop trail around it is pleasant. A dog park. There's ample space for picnicking. The play fields toward the park's northern end seem like a nice addition, with lots of open space for playing catch or kicking a soccer ball around or what have you. And, of course, the highlight (especially for my kiddos) was the playground. According to my wife (who takes them to several parks around SCC during the summer months), it's one of the best...
