Hellbender Bluff County Park — Attraction in Wellsville

Outhouse knocked over. Visited area where i helped volunteer planting trees on reclaimed strip mine land 7 yts. Ago. My guess is about 25 % reforestation rate. I an sure drought has taken its toll. Pines were planted heavily in mix but dont seem to see many. Plenty of oaks and locusts as well as poplars,and of course russian olive as invasive species, but does provide cover. This is a newer park and lacks some things of the more well funded and maintained parks. It has a pavilion, a map of the area , an rc car area, and there is one bench on one of the trails. Don't expect working restrooms. The trails are fun to explore, and well maintained, and does offer some challenge as it can go up steep inclines. Peaceful, clean and full of beautiful growth! The trails are mowed very well and there is a wooden booth you can hangout in. Will take u down to the creek also. It is also a public hinting grounds so mind you times and wear orange if your hiking during hunting season although I wouldn't recommend hiking then.
