I recently visited Daroga State Park and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with the park's natural beauty and serene atmosphere. The views were absolutely breathtaking, showcasing the park's pristine surroundings.
One thing that stood out to me was the impeccable cleanliness throughout the park. The grounds were exceptionally well-maintained, and the campground itself was spotless. It was evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping the park clean and inviting for visitors.
Speaking of the campground, it was a true gem. With well-spaced campsites and plenty of amenities, it provided a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. The restroom facilities were also impeccably clean, which is always a pleasant surprise when camping.
The staff at Daroga State Park were incredibly helpful and friendly. They were always available to answer questions and provide assistance whenever needed. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the park were evident, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.
One aspect that I particularly appreciated was the convenient check-in time. Arriving at 2:30 allowed me to settle in and start my adventure without any delays or hassles. It's clear that the park management values visitor convenience and aims to make the check-in process as smooth...
Read moreNice campground, the Rangers and Hosts are excellent and very helpful.
They make evening rounds to see if folks need ice or firewood.
The water is a bit chilly, so be braced if you take a dip. It can also be pretty breezy, so plan accordingly.
The main sites all have tent pads (sand) and RV hookups (30 Amp and 50 Amp) plus water. The grass and trees are well tended and watered (check the watering schedule so you are not caught off guard).
Outside of the actual campsites, there is overflow parking if you have more then a few cars or a trailer and a couple cars. Plus the boat launch is also very close and offers ample parking.
There is a pretty expensive park with lots of spots to swim (mind that the water maybe a bit... brisk).
For EV drivers, there is a solar based L2 charger (2 connections) that is PlugShare based. You will need your J1772 adapter handy if you are a Tesla driver. However, the unit was non-functional when I was there, so, plan your charging accordingly (either offsite, or bring your RV adapters to leverage the...
Read moreReally nice state park but the trailer parking could use some work. They built the concrete posts for water and power too close to the trailer so they block slide outs. You have to move the trailer just right to miss them, we parked way over the concrete curb in order to get back far enough. If the park attendants read this, please move those posts at least 4-5 feet from the trailers. Some spots are on a hill so you might have to bring extra supports for the tongue. There's also no site dump stations, so you either need a portable dump or you have to move the trailer to the dump station after a few days.
Regarding the facilities, the swimming area is nice. There is additional swimming around the lake. The boat launch is awesome. I wish there was a dock to fish from for the kids. The little park is nice, and the biking trails are extensive. During our stay they didn't take the trash, so the bins were overflowing. It would have been nice to see a trash truck at least once after...
