EDIT: I originally wrote this review a long time ago and what I mentioned did deter us from going for quite some time. However, after a friend was telling me about their visit I decided to give it another go. Everyone I came into contact with even at the store where you purchase feed for the animals and tickets for the “safari ride” was pleasant. We fed the animals right by the store for a bit while we waited on the next ride to start. We happened to be the only ones taking the next ride into the pasture, which was actually pretty fun. They have a school bus that has been gutted with a bench installed straight down the center. All the windows have been removed for ease of looking out and feeding the animals. It was a bit pricey, I can’t remember how much but I’m sure those animals cost a good bit to feed & my little ones had fun so I consider the money justifiable. There was a lady who works with the animals on with us telling us all about them and she was saying they were going to shop for more soon so I’d like to return to see what they have now. The only complaint I do have was the guy driving didn’t keep aware of my toddler and seemed to mash the gas of that big jerky bus at times when it could have really hurt my kid. There were a couple of times we were excited about certain animals and the lady would be trying to show us something and he’d just take off or wouldnt stop at all & like I said it was quite expensive for what it was and there was literally no one else on board so it seemed a bit rude. He was probably the least pleasant of them all. He wasnt directly rude or anything, but didn’t put the effort into making it an enjoyable experience for us that’s for sure. If it werent for the nice lady riding with us I’m not sure it would’ve been worth taking the time to rewrite this review. All in all it’s a fun thing to do if you have an afternoon and little ones to entertain. We will definitely return at some point I’m sure.
I gave three stars bc I have no idea what this place is like, I would have liked to have found out & was planning to take myself & two small children on an hour drive down 16 to spend our Sunday afternoon seeing and petting animals. However, being that it is quite a drive, I called ahead of time to get some information before we hit the rd. The number listed is also for the Chevron gas station, and when I proceeded to ask the lady a couple of questions about the farm, she asked me to hold with a very monotone voice rather than being friendly or the least bit apologetic & then I sat on hold for 5 min & listened to her checking people out at the gas station before I ended up hanging up the phone. Any enthusiasm I felt about taking the time to drive my kids all the way out there for a fun afternoon went down the drain. I guess we’ll find something else to do...
Read moreThese animals and birds are the best therapists for such a small fee! 🤗 This nicely-maintained petting farm is "just what the doctor ordered"! 🧑⚕️
Note: this is a Petting Farm review:
What a bunch of beautiful animals, especially the peacocks and other birds. Make sure to pick up some feed in the Chevron before you see the animals. You will become their new BFF!
The Llamas are real "sweethearts" and the goats are, as well. Even the Emus were fairly calm. They were all so gentle and "user friendly" when eating from my hand.
The Park is just off I-16, so it's the perfect place to stop and unwind for a few minutes. (There should be a petting farm at every rest area on every Interstate.)
In the petting area, there is some nice playground equipment. For a small fee the kids can ride on the carousel. Pick up something to eat in the store and have a picnic while you watch the animals and relax.
A Safari Tour is offered to see the larger animals. The Petting Farm is included with the tour price.
Stop by the gift shop and take home a memento of your visit.
Make sure you check "updates" on this site. I took so many beautiful pictures I wanted to post them all.

Read moreI have mixed feelings about here. The Good: I do enjoy the fact that some of the animals have a lot of space to roam and the staff seem very nice and like good people. I think it is a good business to have in the community to provide kids, families, and others opportunities to interact and engage with animals. However at the end I had some worries that left me feeling conflicted about supporting the business. The not so good: I left extremely concerned about some of the other animals; especially the Kangaroo who was left in a closed cage that was barely 5 X 7 feet. Kangaroo's are animals that need lots of space and to socialize. It was heartbreaking to see him in there like that. He could not even hop and looked very sedated (which happens when they are stressed in captivity). The birds inside the "barn" , the porcupines, and the other small mammals looked very crammed and stressed as well. They seem to have the space so I hope they will invest the time and money to give all the animals the living space and environment they deserve. (Especially since they charge $15 per admission for the tour alone. Felt bad for the families with multiple kids cause I know that got...
