I have yet to say this about any other place, even my most favorites, but 5 stars just isn't enough. I say this because of all the different parks I visited this one completely shocked me the most. Barely a blimp on the map its not what I expected as I pulled in. First, its extremely clean and when I say clean, I really mean immaculate. Its so well groomed to the point I would almost have to assume the staff all have OCD(haha). The mens restroom was hands down the nicest and cleanest public restroom I've ever been in period! No smells, no pee on the floor, just pure flawlessness. No corners where cut into the design and construction of any of the standing structures here. The board walk/docks and buildings are all very modern in design and complement the nature setting very nicely. Best way to sum up this park would be to compare it to a private country club or private park where money was of no concern, only difference is this park is completely free to enter!! Like I said, I travel to tons of parks and I've had to pay to get into some pretty crappy placed that couldn't compete on there best day. Only con I could possible say is even though the walking paths are very nice they are also very short and I wish there was more but you know what they say...Its better to leave them wanting more!! If you have kids driving you crazy and need a place to let them run around and play or want an awesome spot take those family photo's, maybe host a picnic or party, got a group of friends and want to play some Volleyball or just in the mood to go kayaking then search no further this place is for you. This should easily be voted one of Michigan's best smaller public parks out there....

Read moreFishing pier is good looking and in amazing shape, BUT this is not a place for fishing. Maybe early spring, late fall and at 6am during the summer. But definitely not summer laye mornings through dusk. Cass Lake being a sports lake, boaters and skijets alike run at full speed within 20-30 feet of the floating pier... with waves pushing and kicking full force. They don't care and don't give a rat's about what's around them, unless it's them having fun. There is no "No Wake" zone marked near the pier, and no one (Sherrif, where are you?) to enforce anything. I came here with my 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 year-olds on Thursday between 3pm and 8pm, to get a break and maybe teach them to fish... Alas, it's not safe for them to sit on the pier bench, let alone fish... If it's this crazy and careless during the week, i can only imagine what it's like during the weekend.
WB Parks, take care of this little aspect too, and the Marshbank Park will be inching towards...
