This is the best semi-groomed nature trail in the immediate area. It winds thru the woods over hills and valleys with overlooks, a small brook, and a couple of ponds. There are some exposed roots but most are small. It drains well so it is not normally muddy. The sun filters thru but it is mostly shady which keeps the heat down in the summer.
There are 3 different routes offering .5, 1.5, and 2 mile loops before having to repeat routes for a linger hike.
This nature trail connects with the rail trail at the head so if you are biking past you can stop, lock up your bikes and walk the trail for a little variety.
Other amenities include a fair amout of parking and a big porta potty at the trail head.
No need to venture far out into the back country to find this beautiful...

There are some hills, but nothing too steep. Enough to get the heart rate up, but not enough to make you feel like you’re going to have a heart attack. Dogs are welcome....

The park looks safe and the others visitors were friendly and corteus with us. My wife and I came from Miami for a couple of days due to a corporate training and we came to walk and enjoy this...
