We were extremely impressed with this little farm. We took a 9 year old boy here and stayed for three hours. The farm had very few visitors- and is a really great place for a family to spend a Saturday morning. There were two trails which were each about a mile (I believe). There looked like there might be a third trail but the other two were a little more clearly marked. The farm had chickens, around 4 sheep, 3 donkeys, a cow, several goats, pigs, 2 or 3 horses, a few ducks, a turkey- basically all the animals you’d expect to see on a farm. It was really laid back. You could interact with every animal. For the first few hours we were the only people there and we were there a full two hours before we ran into any staff. It felt like we were at, well, a family farm. I’d recommend parents watch their young kids around the young pigs. They were a little boisterous and appeared to be teething. It’s not that they were aggressive or dangerous, they were friendly and liked to play, but they did nip a little harder than a really young kid might be comfortable with. We stayed in with them for a good 30 minutes so...don’t avoid but do be aware. None of the other animals gave us any trouble at all. The donkeys were really nice. We learned later that we shouldn’t have fed the chickens (so don’t). And we learned that the chickens should only be picked up outside because they want them to have a space inside where they can relax (and lay eggs). Also, we saw a duck egg on the ground in the duck pen- so be careful where you step and if you see one move it aside so no one else steps on it. They collect them and sell them to a restaurant. We’re visiting from Atlanta and will definitely visit this place again when we get the chance but the people of Dayton have a real gem here and I hope everyone who does visit does their best to respect the generosity of the people who have opened this place to the public by respecting the rules and animals. If we lived in Ohio we would really make this place a family tradition. There’s just a certain something about this place that I really think every child needs in their lives. Thank you so much for...
Read moreThis farm was an awesome experience for my grandson and me. It was very well kept, animals are very well cared for and very friendly to the visitors. As long as you don’t chase animals and you put hand out to smell they will come to you . The goats and sheep ( including 2@2wks old loved being pet! Even the bathrooms were clean, even tho porta potty’s they’re fixed up to look like moonlit cabin fr outside! Definitely recommend. Have several activities going on in summer & fall I believe it's gone from $3 to $5 now for entire car of people to come in & park. No pets tho bc imagine they don't want to spook their animals. Also nice spot under beautiful trees to bring a picnic lunch! It's basically a petting farm for small & few large...
Read moreHad a great trip to the farm this morning! Such a lovely & adventurous environment! Giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because I was not impressed with the lack of friendliness amongst the staff. I saw at least three staff members present. I’m not speaking for the male because I didn’t interact with him, but the two females didn’t come off as friendly. I felt the manner in which they spoke to children wasn’t developmentally appropriate or gentle. This surprised me because this is a place where there’s many young children & you’d think the staff would know how to speak & interact with them. It was a bummer to witness, but other than that, this is a wonderful place to learn & explore! We could’ve...
