Valley View Park — Attraction in West Des Moines

Valley View Park, oh what a charming little spot! The basketball courts are so authentic, with just the right amount of cracks and divots to make you feel like you're playing on the streets of New York. The tennis and pickleball courts are a delightful blend of clay and gravel that will make you feel like you're playing in the French Open - if the French Open was held in a construction site.

And let's not forget about the sand volleyball courts, which are like a mini desert oasis, complete with a sprinkling of weeds and the occasional tumbleweed. The large fields are perfect for a game of "Find the Needle in the Haystack" and the green space is a wonderful place to lay out a picnic blanket and get cozy with nature.

The restrooms... well, let's just say they're a true "experience." You'll never forget the smell and it will stay with you for hours, if not days. And don't worry about finding a toilet seat that's not broken - they're all broken, which adds to the fun.

Awesome pickleball courts!! 8 dedicated courts in total. 2 tennis/ pickleball courts when you first come in. 4 sand volleyball courts and several basketball hoops. Large baseball fields, too. This is a very large park. I'm mainly come for pickleball, though. Everyone there is just too dang nice. They'll let you join if you just ask. Great shelter…covered, bathrooms connected to shelter, outlets, water, built in table/shelf for serving food, plenty of picnic tables.
