We just visited SheyWest for the first time and we will definitely be back! Not only do I love supporting a local family, but I also love an average shopping trip that is transformed into an experience. Today at SheyWest, one of the ladies took our 3 & 5 yr olds and showed them several plants, encouraged them to feel them, and told them a little about the plants, and then pointed out some other cool areas for them to check out while visiting. How cool is that?! I love fostering a love for plants and for someone else to take interest in our kids, that meant something to me.
As I walked around, I heard some other guests commenting that the prices seemed a bit high, but then her friend pointed out how healthy and lush everything looks. You don't get that everywhere! And, I'd rather pay a little more to support local and get better quality.
As we were walking out the door with only five small plants, a man (the owner, I presume) came up to me, made eye contact, and said in a heart-felt way, "Thank you SO much for your business." We spent $26 and yet he made a pointed effort to thank us. We will be back!
If you have kids, there is a cute little play area inside where you pay, and they are also putting in a goldfish pond outside that I hear the kids love each year.
Thank...
Read moreUpdate: 3.18.24 Came here with my kiddo because all the faux springs had me sad. I needed some green time! I was nervous because my 3 year old can be hands-on. People, the kids corner is magical! I was so impressed and happy! He did great, and I could peruse nearby while keeping an eye on him. Well crafted and thought out kids space. My gardener mama heart was so happy!
6.1.22 Wow! This garden center had pretty much everything I've been looking for! I took myself on a date for my birthday and wandered around here for the better part of an hour. I made my wishlist and will be returning after I discuss further with my husband. I'm super impressed and staff were nearby for help but not...
Read moreI am disappointed with the business practices. This was advertised as a 6" plant. For those who aren't plant savvy, this is severe root rot and also not even a 3" plant because of it. I told them I intend to rehab the plant but that I was overcharged. They told me to bring the plant back if I want a refund. Probably so they can scam someone else and keep their money. I would at least offer a partial refund or future discount but now I can also see I was not the only customer treated this way. Update: I have never filled out any application for any position with this business. This is once again an example of the dishonest nature of...
