Moss Farms Winery — Attraction in West Finley Township

We rented the place for a private wedding shower for 1K for the day yet they stayed open for business. To sell wine and moonshine to walk in customers. Fly's and bugs were all over the horsdoeurvs and the cakes. the small kitchen area is taken up by the employees servicing wine. Building is only 600 square feet. We had the event catered and grilled on site. We had to meal prep at my home. I was told were going to be charged for the wine and liquor by the bottle. Instead we were charged by the drink. My bar bill was over $600 for 22 people with very little consumption. OH and they placed 30 small bottles of wine for us to give to our guests on a side table, which they promptly charge me for all 30 even though there were 12 not taken.(after I pushed the matter the 12 were taken off the bill.) We brought all our own decoration, napkins, glasses, place setting. I got the feeling from the owners son that we were simply a burden and he was not to be bothered with anything we might need. Update! On 02/10/24 had a fun “meet the parents” gathering with family and friends to celebrate our daughter’s engagement! EVERYONE who joined absolutely loved the winery. The young lady who served was so gracious and did a good job with an unexpected larger crowd. Thanks again!! 11/25/23 squeezed a last minute small celebration for our daughter’s 30bday on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend! We were in the area to see the lights at Oglebay and found this wonderful place while we were here. We had some of the best wine we have tasted in quite a while. The scenery was amazing, and the inside of the winery was absolutely beautiful. The meat and cheese plate was to die for. We had the pleasure of being served by Susan and spent several hours tasting wine and chatting with her. If you are coming through Wheeling, I would highly recommend you check this wonderful winery out.
