Jonathan’s Dream — Attraction in West Hartford

A wonderful playground that has something for everyone. There are basketball hoops and balls, music instruments, plenty of things to climb, slides, a ship that can rock, a play firetruck, a zip line for older kids and one that has a buckled seat for younger and disabled children, and different swings. There is a nice area that is covered and has picnic tables. It is completely fenced in with a gate that young kids can't open. There are signs that help teach sign language. I love that it is all inclusive for kids of all abilities. The only negative is that the porta potties are outside of the fenced in area. This gated playscape is new, clean, and well maintained. Employees from the Jewish center come out every so often to keep it tidy. There is a lost and found box for estranged mittens, stuffed animals, etc. If you are missing something more special, like a wallet or keys, check inside. Birthday parties are welcome here. Check with the Community Center to reserve. There is a very reasonable rate to have tables reserved in the pavilion for a party. Many accessible features at this playground for parents or children with mobility needs. There is a water fountain. Beware: the water is warm. A very large and nice playground. There is a mini basketball court, climbing playscape, zipline under a fake airplane, etc. The playground is located in the back parking lot area of the Mandell Jewish Community Center. It opens everyday from 8 am to sunset. There is a porta potty available. This was built in 1996 and was the first all inclusive playground for children of all abilities in the area.

We went on a Saturday and it was super busy. You have to keep a hawk eye on your babies because they can get lost in the crowd. There is a pavilion with picnic tables. The play area is fenced in and has plenty of parking. In the end, I can't wait to come back on a weekday when...
