I simply love the reservoir- today we parked at the overlook and walked through some of the fields. There is ample evidence of native wildflowers and grasses, the insects are trilling, the songbirds are singing; sparrow, meadowlark, cardinal, woodpecker, sandpiper, grackle, eastern kingbird. A beautiful mild June day, all the insects and birds were out, the habitat was teeming with energy. I saw a heron, egret, black snakes, browns. Observed bluegill from the shore, we caught a large mouth bass from shore fishing-PA licenses are required for fishing and boating, see further instruction on the proper sites. One of the things I love about this area is the requirement for electric trolling only; several kayaks today, wish we were some of them. There are trails through the meadows that allow for easy walking-running without the fear of excessive tics from the taller grasses. There are several port a potty’s located at convenient locations to keep humans from increasing the amount of ecoli leaching into the water. I feel the human caregivers of long arm are doing a very nice job maintaining the integrity of the area, I hope people continue to respect this area and treat the land and water as the treasures they are, but I am very grateful for the stewards and the work that is done now to maintain this ecological habitat. There is a lot of forested area providing cover and food sources for deer, bear, all manner of native animals to the area. Susquehanna Outfitters also has a stand at the boat launch for rentals, see their website for...

Subsequently, there is very little to stop rainwater from carrying silt into the water which has an adverse effect on the fish and the quality of the water. The owner does restrict fuel powered engines and body contact, but that's just the simple easy thing to do. This reservoir needs to be more environmentally friendly which will in turn support the local wildlife, which would make this reservoir into...
