Lazarre Park — Attraction in West Monroe

Lazarre Park is probably one of the most underrated parks in the area. Aside from the river access, it is one of the best places around for disc golf. The local Celtic Fest was held here this year. With 18 years running, this was one of the best turnouts for the festival yet. I do hope the city continues to sponsor larger events like this here again. Well done Parks Department!

We visit Lazzare to play the disc golf course. The course itself is usually very well maintained. The grass is kept short and the underbrush is usually cleared. The downside to Lazzare is its tendency to be under water for extended periods of time when it rains. This prevents us from accessing the back half of the course. Additionally, some of the baskets are in weird locations. I have also found the course difficult to navigate here and there. Overall, it's a great place to play disc golf...

This used to be a great park but the city of West Monroe ought to be ASHAMED the way it has fallen into disrepair. About the only thing they do any more is cut the grass when it gets high. Years ago, when they kept the park up, family's by the dozens would come to picnic and enjoy the Ouachita. There are no bathroom...
