It is my pleasure and with gratitude to give Flying Plow Farm a 5-star review. They are the A+++ of certified organic farms in the area where I live, and I have been shopping at local farms and farmers markets since the 1980s. My loyalty to Flying Plow goes all the way back to the days when they were on Jerusalem Mill Road. I remember the first year they arrived on the seen as a vendor at the Bel Air Farmers Market. I have followed them to the Kennett Square Farmers Market, so I have experienced them at their farms and various farmers markets.

First star goes to Sarah and Tom and their vision of being young entrepreneurial farmers. I love Tom's generous outlook in that he would like to see more local farmers. I applaud them for pursuing their dream and sticking to their mission. No matter what nature brings, they are resilient and remain positive. Their excellent staff has grown over the years, and they are always a reflection of Sarah and Tom and the Flying Plow Team.

Second star goes for customer service. Whether it is Tom, Sarah, or Rebecca, they are always available to answer questions. I am so impressed.

Third star goes for outstanding quality, quantity, variety, and taste of their produce. The first time I saw their summer arugula at the Bel Air Market, I was amazed. With every season, I look forward to the bounty they provide. Not only do I look forward, but I crave their tomatoes, sweet peppers, and I eat four pounds of carrots weekly.

Fourth star goes for the outstanding quality of their eggs, chicken, and meat. I claim to be an egg connoisseur. When you take the leap to certified organic, you can taste the difference. I also remember the first time Flying Plow floated by a survey on providing grass-fed beef. Of course, I was yes, yes, yes. Each and every week when I visit the farm, I feel as though I am on sacred ground watching the animals out to pasture and having the ability to walk around and see where the food we eat is being grown.

Fifth star goes for their farm stand at the Johnson Farm. It has become a one-stop shop for a variety of locally, grown products which certainly makes my life easier. Furthermore, their stands at the local farm markets should win an award for their artist presentations. Whenever I go to the markets my reaction is the same as driving up the Johnson Farm Lane driveway, that is, "Wow! This is so awesome and what I gift."

I am deeply appreciative of...

A truly 5-star experience with Flying Plow! We loved their Farmer's Market stand so much that we became CSA members early this year in the winter/spring season; then, we loved the CSA so much that we signed up for the full main season, and will continue to do so.

Produce and Products: They provide beautiful, fresh, flavorful REAL local veggies (and other products). There is such a huge selection, too! Greens, lettuces, giant bunches of herbs, squashes, root veg... so many variety. There are dozens of items you could add on and you can tell that they only sell the best – they feel good about the products and know the people behind them. We had searched high and low for a really good organic yogurt and found it with them. We wanted some great fermented veg and found it with them. There are tons of foods we still haven't even tried yet!

Staff: They are communicative, kind, informative, and helpful. You can tell they care about their products and customers and they truly take pride in both. I've gone to them with questions and they respond so promptly and helped right away to resolve any issues. We shopped at their stand at the Bel Air Farmer's Market from spring 2021, long before we started with their CSA, and their staff members are always friendly and helpful.

Website and CSA Process: Their website is user-friendly and has excellent customizability which is a huge perk and wasn't how another CSA was that we did in a different state. It's pretty easy to navigate and shop. We love the routine of the CSA process and it's easy to follow. We get notifications on delivery day and pickup is easy and convenient (and last winter we had home delivery, and they were right on time and delivered right to our door).

We can't believe we still haven't made it to the physical farm yet, but look forward to going sometime and meeting these friendly farmers in-person and thanking them for...

This has been our 3rd(?) CSA season with Flying Plow.

I'm a cancer survivor and my husband and I are over 65. We began our CSA with the pandemic, thinking we'd avoid exposure at the grocery store while we waited for a vaccine.

A year and a half after our first vaccines and we remain devoted Flying Plow CSA customers! The quality and taste of the produce and meats; the fish, soaps, grains, cheeses, the variety of fruits (love, love, love the fruits!), and all the other great stuff Flying Plow provides changed the way we eat and live.

Really. We didn't know what flavors and cooking experiences we were missing until Flying Plow introduced to all their fine local products.

Thank you for helping us stay healthy. Not just during the pandemic, but for the rest...

We've been CSA members here for two years now and we will never not be CSA members! Their organic produce is always top quality, and the freshness cannot be topped by anything at the store. Plus, I love knowing my dollars are going right back into the community. The additional products they add from other producers is such an added bonus too. It allows me to easily support other farms and get it all delivered to my door. As a busy mom, this is a huge added benefit for me. We love the ability to "shop" and add what we'd like to our box each week, and the ease of even adding on extra if we want it. We've also enjoyed other benefits like "all you can pick" tomatoes this year as well.

Our family has had a share in Flying Plow since they came to Cecil County many years ago. We are raising our children on their amazing organic vegetables and meats. We are so grateful for their winter share as well! Those were long winters before they had a winter share option. Not only does Flying Plow grow a wide variety of real organic food, but it also tastes amazing year-round. We are most impressed with how they care for the land and ethically grow and process animals. Beware! Not all organic places take care of the ecosystem and livestock, but Flying Plow does! You can go see for yourself. They are the highest standard in Community Supported Agriculture.

Great place to buy certified organic vegetables and meats as well so much more! Highly recommend joining the CSA but if unable to do so order ahead on their easy to use website, or stop by when the farm stand is open! The owners and workers are so helpful in answering questions about the CSA, or in placing orders, or even with great ideas on what to do with a vegetable you never tried.
