Have you been to Nottingham Park? If not, you should go.
Nottingham Park, which has the best fishing in the world, is a place where you can host birthday parties, hike, and fish.
It has two really good fishing ponds, one better for catfishing and the other for bass, bluegill, and sunfish. I prefer the bass pond—I like bass fishing more so I recommend McPherson Lake.
The trails take my breath away, and if you don't like full woods when you are hiking no problem some of the trails are fully outdoors, and some are fully in the woods.
There is also a very fun playground that kids can play on while their parents fish or need to get some work done at the picnic tables available for use. The picnic tables also are very nice spots under trees so perfect on a hot sunny day, there is also a gazebo if it rains on your day out.
At McPherson Lake for bass, I recommend Zoom speed worms in a green pumpkin with a Texas rig; it produces the chance to catch bass, and at Catfish lake I recommend anything that you would usually use for catfish.
And when you are all done you can stop by the ranger station, which has a live bait station. You can leave feedback on what they can improve at the park to make it a better place for kids and for parents. Overall I recommend Nottingham Park to every age and if you just want to have...
Read moreBeautiful scenery and variety at this park. The trails are unfortunately not well marked and easy to get lost on. I got lost just before dark once and had a harrowing time finding my way back. Upon returning to my car (at this point it’s dark) a park employee greeted me and confirmed that I was the driver of the only vehicle left in the lot. He was relieved to find me and wished me well before continuing his final sweep of the park. So, while difficult to navigate, I am extremely reassured and grateful to know that the park employees are doing their job to keep us safe. 10/10 beauty 4/10 ability to navigate 10/10 variety 1000/10 park employees doing...
