My wife and I visited Galen Glen last year. We have been going to the Fingerlakes a couple of times a year for about twenty years, and both know and appreciate German white wine. We were excited to discover that a vineyard in PA was making our kind of wine. Unfortunately our tasting experience was so unsatisfactory, that we will not return. I was excited to learn that Galen Glen had three different Gruner Veltliner wines to taste from vines that had been established for different numbers of years. It promised to be a very interesting tasting. Unfortunately, our server, a daughter in the family, was adamant that she could only pour a very small amount of wine in your glass for each tasting. The place had only two other small groups besides ours and the wine choices are fewer than some other wineries, BUT the wines are excellent!!! 🎉Good Going Galen Glen🍾 We visited Galen Glen a few years ago and it still holds its spot on our chart near the top for one of the best wineries with a nice assortment of excellent tasting wines -dry, sweet, and semi-dry. Try a Taste of the Glen -Galen Glen that is- ...I assure you that you won't be...
Read moreGalen Glenn is phenomenal. No other way to describe it. This winery is off the beaten path, but I would highly recommend a visit. The wine tastings are great- the staff are well informed of their wines and grapes used. They have an enclosed outside sitting area to enjoy a glass after a tasting. On weekends, they frequently have events with chefs and a food truck.
Some of my favorite wines that I tried(in no particular order) The Gruner Veltliner, Reisling Fossil Vineyard, and Winter Mountain White.
Can't go wrong with a tasting and try them all. This winery is doing something...
