Visited this place with my friends for the first time this past Sunday. It was a very rainy day so we decided to drive out to some wineries. I must say it was disappointing. Barbara was just so rude from the second we walked in, we felt very uncomfortable. But the distance that you drive to get to these wineries... you’re better off staying n making the best of it, which is what we did. We walked in having to use the restroom to start. I was holding a cigarette and my wallet. The first thing Barbara says to my girlfriend as I am in the restroom is... “she better not be smoking in there”!! Really!? My girlfriend says “of course not we know better” I walk out of the bathroom and head outside to smoke a cigarette. Barbara again speaks out disrespectfully and says, “if you smoke on the patio you will be asked to leave” REALLY?! What is it with this lady and her customer service skills? You can just kindly say ladies if you were going to smoke, please do not smoke on the patio because it’s not permitted. SIMPLE! ( we are 4 grown adults ages 47 and up btw) Than all 4 of us walk to the main bar area to start our tasting.... she tells us we can’t stand there because there’s a large party on their way and moved us to the corner bar. By this time it was 4:20 And that party was not going to arrive until 4:45. Barbara could have just said you ladies can stand here and start your tasting...but if the party gets here I will ask you all to move to the other side. Well we left at 5:30 no party ever showed up. Horrible place never going back!! They needs smiles, positive energy and lots of customers...
Read moreI’m not one to EVER write a review, but after our experience today at this winery I had to say something. When Guathier opened we were so incredibly excited to finally have a close to home, family friendly winery to visit. We raved to our friends about this location and convinced them to come today to do a get together. During our visit (after a few hours of being there) we were informed that children, specifically our infant son and my friends infant daughter were not allowed in the inside area. My friend took her daughter inside briefly to get a diaper change (in the restroom) and to cool off as it was hot outside and she was promptly told that she could not remain inside and needed to go outside immediately. We were told by multiple people after the fact, that this was a new rule and that the owner didn’t believe in children being present at a winery. As a first time parent it’s already hard enough not feeling shame for going out, so it’s unfortunate that this winery has decided to follow this mindset. We (along with our friends) will not be...
Read moreOur experience at Gauthier was unfortunately ruined by an older gentleman that seemed to be the grounds caretaker. We started inside with a flight which was great and the servers were so delightful. We got a bottle and moved to the outside fireplace. We already knew they were closing in an hour and we were almost done with our wine. We walked by several staff to get down to the fireplace and made conversation, no one said we couldn't walk down. This gentleman walked briskly towards us. Rudely telling us that we weren't allowed to be down there and that 'we promptly close at 6 so you need to be done by then and leave.' He then took the extra wood away and grumbled as he walked away. He could have reminded us of closing time way nicer. I get it , I've worked in the service industry for years. But I would never speak to anyone like that. We had an...
