Dear Google, yes it has free parking and wheelchair access. It also has 24hrs free toilets and overpriced vending machines, including Lotto. They also have "The Ray", GA's "climate friendly" highway, thanks to KIA. You can charge your electric car and drive over a cool tire checker that tells you the air pressure and tread depth that will print (when it works) or send the info to your phone. All running on Solar. All free, including air compressor and water. Other than that, it's an interstate rest area and GA Welcome Center with brochures and maps and even coffee if you're there in the morning. Just like everywhere else. Discriminatory to those of us who don't like coffee and prefer a Coke for our caffeine fix! If you need more info just google it for phone number and additional details. There is a dog walking area and picnic tables with roofs. Dogs (and some children) should be kept on a leash at all times. Enjoy. Take a walk or a leak. But fuel up in AL before crossing the river, its always 20-30 cents cheaper. ATL loves Taxes. Have a safe and fun trip. Try to hit ATL before or after Rush Hours and avoid 285 if you can. Thru town on 85N is way faster. Keep it between the ditches and the shiny side up. Keep your eyes on the road you're hands apon the wheel- especially if you have a self...
Read moreSigns state restrooms are open until 11pm, which you would think a rest area on the interstate would have 24 restrooms, but still, I pulled in at 10:45pm. The attendant was at the door, saw me pull in and locked the doors and walked away. I even went up to the doors and knocked, it was 10:49pm at this point, but he wouldn't even acknowledge me. I see other reviews of him doing this to other guests. Doesn't make Georgia look very friendly if someone were coming to Georgia for the very first time! Especially since this rest area is the very first stop as soon as you cross over Alabama into Georgia on I-85. Bottom line is since all the signs say 11pm, he should keep the doors open until 11pm, not 10:45. The signs read 11pm! But obviously this attendant can't read because he closes early all the time according to other...
Read moreI had a flat tire and pulled unto this rest area. I called state farm for roadside assistance. While I was on the phone and one of the grounds worker came by to ask if I needed help. I believe his name was Walter, a super sweet older black male! Sadly, at that moment I decline the help. Well, 2 hours later state farm never did showed up and I was really frustrated. I got out the car and I was going to figure out how to change a tire that day. While I was struggling to get the tire out, Walter ran over to help immediately. I explained to him that the tow company was taking forever and he told me he'll change the tire for me. He truly did help me out, and I wish I would have took his help from the very beginning. I was able to make it to a very important appointment for my Dad's...
