The camping area is great! Loved every aspect of it. The Zoo was Dull had the boar and the bears and the Bobcat but had Replica snakes for the snakes and no other animals my kid was very excited only to be let down. And the pool is very fun but the getting out every 45 min part is very hard on a parent with kids who wanna swim and very annoying too. Once you get in to have fun you have to get out not to much longer after. From every exit time your cold each time you get back in and you burn more having to get out and sit directly in sun they don't have no shade area or umbrella areas for the weak skinned people who burn easy at the times of having to get out. The food area the old guy can’t hear to take your order and it takes the whole break time and more to get your food from getting your order in and them making it and there not always the friendliest. The lifeguards are nice and lenient but they didn’t seem like they wanted to do their job and some played on their phones while other gathered around the picnic table to chat with guest they had come and one of there guest motioned to the one to go smoke a joint and was there the rest of the time and left on break with that lifeguard and came back wouldn’t trust my child's safety to them. When you walk in to pay they act like...

Great park for a small town. Lots of trails to hike if you’re in to that. There’s also a nice fishing pond. Last I checked they had some animal enclosures where you could stop by and see black bears, bob cats, multiple species of snakes, and even a red tail hawk. It’s pretty interesting and fun if you’re into that kinda thing. They have a public pool which isn’t too bad. It has two diving boards one is small and one it bigger. It also has a decent water slide to go down. The pool starts off at 3ft deep and goes all the way up to 11ft which is where the diving boards are located. Plus they have a kid size pool for toddlers and people who just want to get their feet wet. They also serve food. It can be pretty expensive to eat there but it’s decently good. They always have life guards on duty so everyone should feel safe. Plus you have to take 15 minute breaks every so often. The park also has a miniature golf course which is a lot of fun. Plus tennis courts and basketball courts. There’s also a camp ground for tents and RV/Campers. The staff and rangers are very pleasant when dealing with them. You always see deer and other animals. I’ve even had one walk up to me a long time ago which was epic. So I’d definitely recommend stopping by and checking out this park if you ever...

Love this park! An everything that it offers. Also if you have kids, it's a wonderful place to take them to view wild animals like deer and other animals including a small zoo inside the park also. There is sites for picnicking with playgrounds for the children to play on. Also if you enjoy hiking or walking trials, then look no further. The park has many to choose from that offer some really breath taking views to take in from wildlife to overlooking the park. An if hiking isn't your speed, the park also offers lots of history including a real train engine that's always on display. With a museum nearby giving facts an information about the history of coal mining and Chief Logan. There is also fishing allowed at the park and horseback riding. They also have a pool that is open to the public for those hot summer days with a basketball court right behind it. Not to mention onsite camping an the beautiful cabins they have on the peak of one of the mountains. Also included is a gun range to practice at outside. There is really plenty to do at this park with its gorgeous views to amazing wildlife to fun activities. An in the fall it offers just an absolute stunning arrays of colors from the trees as the leaves begin to change colors. overall I give this park a...

Appalachian Outpost, West Virginia. Your new favorite family vacation spot. Where to stay, where to play, and our 3 day itinerary 👇. WHERE to stay: The cabins at @appalachianoutpost. These new cabins sleep 8, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a full kitchen (some cabins pet friendly!). On property restaurant, UTV rentals, gas station and stores! Great location, right off the Rockhouse ATV trails, and hours from Washington DC, Baltimore, MD, and Philadelphia, PA. Day 1: *Check into the cabins at @appalachianoutpost. *Visit Outpost Outfitters, the on site store for souvenirs or any gear you might need for the trails. *Rent an UTV from @baccountry and head out on the connected @hatfield.mccoy.trails, with over 1000 miles of off-road trails. *Have dinner at Broken Axle Restaurant. Some of the best southern comfort food we’ve tried. I suggest the deep fried buffalo mac wrap, fried green tomatoes, and pepperoni rolls. Day 2- *Coffee and frappes at Red Bird Cafe *Visit Chief Logan State Park. We loved the Cliffside Loop trail, their museum, and their wildlife exhibit. *Have lunch at the Parkway Drive in. Get lunch delivered right to your car or inside. Try the homemade dumplings! *Visit the Hatfield Homeplace museum to learn more about the famous Hatfield-McCoy feud. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet Jack Hatfield, the great great great grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield himself! He had so many cool stories for us. *Visit the Hatfield Cemetery *Have dinner at Broken Axle. Try some of the local brews (I loved the Devil Anse IPA from @greenbriervalleybrewingco) and play a couple of games of pool. *Get ice cream at Red Bird Cafe *Watch a movie and play the arcade games at Fountain Place Cinema. They have UNLIMITED popcorn and soda, how cool is that? Day 3- *Visit Nu-Era Bakery, home to some of the most delicious pastries and cakes. They’d been using their delicious homemade recipes for 84 years! *Visit Country Road’s Byway Visitor Center to learn more about the history of the area (this was a great stop for a quick homeschool lesson!) #AlmostHeaven #WVTourismPartner @WVtourism @appalachianoutpost #appalachianoutpost
