This little park has it all! Beautiful and sometime breathtaking scenery, especially at dusk: check. Running, biking, hiking trail: check. Place to fish: check. Place for kids to play: check. Basketball tennis courts: check. Place to boat with dock ramp: check. Soccer field: check. Dog park: check. Public bathrooms: check. I could go on and on! I was so please with this park. Kudos again to the Bridgeport, WV Department of Parks and Recreation! Your parks make this town a really inviting place to want to stay a while! For those runners out there curious about the length of the trail. It is a mile long course along two lakes. Down and back makes two! Read moreThis is a picturesque area but the fishing ia a joke. Currently they upped the price 2 years ago to 25 dollars per person including any kid that is 12 or older. The people that wrote out the license said Stocking # 2 would be on 3-29-2018. In actuality the date was moved back to the original 3-30-18 planned date. Poor communication left many licensed anglers misinformed. Also not much imagination but to stock the same 2 locations (1 place at each lake) every single time . Takes all the guesswork out of the fishing. It’s like people standing nearly fishing on top of each casting into a tub. What should be enjoyed has turned into nothing more than a money pit. 25 dollars to fish just this is a joke. Should stock Simpson Creek as well...
Read moreSomeone needs to clean up the foliage on the Hinkle Lake Road side. These water type foliage takes up about 1/2 the fishing spots from turn down to back onto Hinkle Road. Hinkle Lake has Bass , Channel Cats , Blue Gills and of course Bowser (my youngest named him), a really nice size old snapping turtle that loves...
