PICTURES ARE DECEIVING, NOT BIG RIG INTENDED. We are a 38-ft class A towing a car and based on reviews and website thought we would be able to use one of the pull-through sites. We arrived after dark (due to unforeseen delaying circumstances) only to realize that the roads to get to the campsite are extremely windy & our pull-through site was literally on such a sharp upward angle that we debated whether it was safe to stay parked there overnight. In the morning, we were prepared to leave and just be out the money for the additional nights we were booked, but when we spoke to the host, he was very helpful and accommodating. He allowed us to park the trailer elsewhere on the property and transfer to a different open site (A back-in site that we could never have done with the trailer). The property itself is beautiful for those who enjoy walking and fishing and woodsy scenery. The gift shop is very nice and sells firewood. They had a nice looking children's playground. For tent camping or a smaller RV, it would be a wonderful place to stay. Many places to go in the surrounding area within a 45-minute drive, particularly New River Gorge State Park and the Beckley coal mine exhibition.

I love this park. Beautiful with really scenic views. Wide variety of trails and all levels of difficulty. Not overly crowded. Great for short trips or planning a day. Picnic area is clean and right by the water so you can eat with a view. Good playground for the kids to play close by. Some of the trails can be challenging especially if it rained recently. Should go without saying to wear good shoes if your going to take on a longer hike but worth mentioning since some areas can be pretty slick and steep. I always see a fair amount of people walking their dogs here so if yours isn’t friendly and your thinking about unleashing keep in mind this is a popular place for that. Lots of wild life but it’s West Virginia so that shouldn’t surprise you. Deer are coming and I’ve never seen a bear but have seen plenty of signs that they have been in the area.

We stayed at the RV campground, which had many sites that were spacious and few that were tighter to accommodate RV groups. We were in site 25 by the bathhouse. It was close enough for convenience, not too close to see, hear, or smell anything. The bathhouse is well maintained with multiple shower stalls and a laundry room as well. It's a child-friendly with a playground, lots of space to play, and easy trails directly connected to the park. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet and well-kept campground at a reasonable price in relative proximity to some of the major attractions in the area. Technical: Many power pedestals accommodate 30 and 50 amp. Water available, but no sewer - just dump station near the entrance.

Absolute worst camping experience of my entire life. The people running this place had the nerve to call me literally the morning of my reservation and tell me my reservation was not being honored, the last thing I want to hear when out of state and hundreds of miles away from home while on a trip I spent countless hours preparing for. Total bullshit. Ruined my whole day and tainted my visit to West Virginia and New River Gorge. Don't bother camping here unless you want to be moved to a different site with more noise and less privacy that you didn't pay for and don't want. I spent a considerable amount of time researching third-party websites for views and reviews of specific sites before booking. They granted me the indignity of having to camp literally right next to the one I paid for and reserved in advance while someone else camped in the site I booked and was looking forward to. They claim they overbooked, but it was a different site than mine and on a previous day – making it entirely irrelevant to my reserved site the day of – they just couldn't be bothered to ask the person in my reserved site to move now that others were opened. Instead of asking the double-booked person to move to the one I was given, they made it my problem. Extremely unprofessional and just plain wrong. That's not how reservations work. It's ridiculous that they even have a system which supposedly allows for double-booking in the first place. Even so, they weren't over or double-booked the day of my reservation, no one else had reserved my site that day and there were others available for the person in my reserved site. I never would have booked the site they replaced mine with. I checked out the site but never checked in (some RV people were right on the other side of the trees behind my site, something I had intentionally tried to avoid), ended up camping for free at Grandview Sandbar Campground instead. $40 for a night tent camping is already a ripoff as it is. If I wanted that site I would have reserved it, but I didn't and would not have. Completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation if they aren't going to honor it. To add insult to injury, despite having measures in place to protect their end should I have cancelled my reservation, they made no such attempt to refund me for not upholding their part of the agreement and just presumed I would be okay with getting screwed over. Little Beaver State Park Campground is run by incompetent and inconsiderate people. 🤡 Flawed booking system and inept individuals ruining a public institution. Total joke, shame on them. "We hope you don't mind". Damn right I mind, you took my money for a reservation you didn't keep! I hated my non-stay with a passion and will...

2022 UPDATE Oh, my. Chainsaws running on weekends? Please stop! There are weekdays for this work. Why are there frisbee golf receptacles throughout the woodlands and in the beautiful natural field in the park?! I go here for the natural landscape, to see unspoiled areas, and enjoy watching wildlife. Those metal receptacles are an ABOMINATION that will lead to trampled and barren areas. And who is it that is always parked in the campground and keeps carts and side-by-sides junked up around their campsite? Not to mention the LIGHT that stays on all blasted night! Same spot. Please, please LEAVE. Or at least turn off the light at night and park the recreational vehicles someplace else. Besides, I didn't think they were allowed in the park?? For the love of all that is holy, stop trying to "improve" the park using these methods. It is becoming just another white trash, junked up place to park a camper. On another note, the clean-up at the ranger residence, office area, shelters, playground, and lake are quite nice and low impact.

PREVIOUSLY: This park is a sweet haven not too far from my home. It is verdant, peaceful, and clean. We camped for the week in an awesome pull-through, lined with laurel and hardwoods. Pileated woodpeckers, turkey, and white-tail deer were our neighbors. Park staff were spectacular. The bathhouse was clean and the showers were warm. Stargazing in the nearby field and watching fawns chase one another were the main attractions! Cooking over the campfire and exploring nearby Glade Creek rounded out our experience. We LOVE this park and all its beauty. I encourage...
