Read moreWent here to walk trails because I happened to be in the neighborhood. The trail around the pond is pretty, good for birdwatching, but also pretty primitive (was muddy and would be really bad after rain) and short. The pond trail fed into a larger and better-maintained loop trail that I thought, based on the sign at the trailhead, would eventually end back at the parking lot. However, when I got about 3/4 around the trail, it appeared to dead-end in a dormant construction zone, at the end of which were some "trail closed" signs. Next to this termination were some private properties and there was no visible way to pass in back of them, so I ended up having to walk for about 5 to 7 minutes on the nonexistent shoulder of Swedesford Road with speeding traffic coming at me until I got past the private properties, could run back across the busy road and get back on the loop trail back to the parking lot. I hope they're going to finish trail construction and/ or better mark the trail soon because while most of my hike was nice, the last part wasn't, and would have been very difficult if I had a child or...

There is also a Sickle Pear Tree by the West End of the pond which I guess is at least a hundred and fifty years old. It is being strangled to death by many, many thick Vines, and something needs to be done ASAP before the vines kill off this tree that is so old, has obviously a great deal of History , and still...
