Our very first fresh turkey after we moved to Vermont came from Dave & Judy Adams. It was. coincidentally their first year raising and selling their birds to the public. This Thanksgiving will be our 34th year as their customers. We have never bought and will never buy one from a grocery/supermarket. People constantly chide us for paying so much for a farm fresh bird, but as the expression goes "you get what you pay for"; referring to those who would rather buy birds for 59 cents a pound. At least we know where Dave's birds come from, how they are raised, what they are fed, and how long before we pick ours up were they processed (I hate to use the word "slaughtered"). Sometimes we'll forget to call Judy to place the order, so she calls us. It's always been first name basis. We're treated like family, not just another customer who comes through the door.
