Very cool and beautiful. It’s a little tucked away place, a mile off the highway. The reason I give it 2 stars is because of the pushy “get out we are closing” reminders. I bought tickets for my girls and myself about 30 minutes before closing. The lady reiterated what time it was (about 5 times) because they’d be closing at 4. My daughters are young toddlers and get bored fast at their ages, so 30 minutes was perfect for them. I told her each time, I understood, we would be out by 4. While inside the butterfly room, we were there about 10 minutes and we were again reminded the bathrooms were being locked and to use them because they are closing. Two minutes go by and another woman came over to me and said “did you hear we are closing the bathrooms because we close at 4?” I said “Yes I’ve been told multiple times now, the lady just made an announcement to the whole room just a minute ago” she said “ok, it’s 3:48 now so you have 12 minutes”. Holy cow, like I get it, you want to get home, maybe it is time to adjust the hours so you can close sooner if you really need to get out of there, taking up my $1 a minute 30 min visit to stop and interrupt my daughters trying to see butterflies to constantly remind me how much time we have was super uncomfortable and ruined the experience. Then, a few moments later, I am approached by a third woman, are you kidding me, this time it was about the gift shop closing up and again reminded I have so-many minutes. I ended up walking out 5 minutes before 4pm after the last lady spoke to me about it. I also heard complaints from other customers being told the same things. Almost the entire time for $24/30 mins, I was told over and over to leave soon because they wanted out of there right at 4, basically. I loved the place but the whole staff constantly bombarding us and pushing us out, when we all knew 4pm was closing time, was just really disappointing and very unwelcoming/uncomfortable. She should have just said I was too late to buy tickets but instead she gave me the option to buy them and I knew very well that I had 30 mins ( living over an hour away, I chose to take the 30 minutes for $24 as I promised my kids to take them- I would’ve chose differently if I knew this was going to be my first experience at the butterfly place) . We will try a different butterfly sanctuary next time for sure, but it was very cool anyways just a bad human experience, the butterflies...
