Beautiful New Year’s Day hike with my wife. We loved the different ecosystems and water! The walk felt longer than 1 mile. Would recommend wearing waterproof shoes with traction soles as the ground is very boggy in many places, and is also uneven with roots. There are a few streams to cross by moss covered rocks as well. I also recommend bringing water and protein bars if you are someone who gets easily depleted from exercise. This would not be a good hike for someone with mobility challenges.

Read moreDifficult trail in the fall with leaves covering the roots and rocks along the trail. I wish I had taken both hiking poles (only took one) and I had a tumble on some moss/leaf-covered stones over a little stream. Also, be careful as the yellow/blue markings are confusing and going counter-clockwise it is easy to miss the turn going over a stone wall.
Still, the area is very nice and must be gorgeous in the spring. I'll be back - perhaps...
