Let me tell you a story about Outlook Farm. When I was 15 a friend and I found an awesome bumper sticker that said "Are you achin' for some bacon?" The sticker was on one of those big trash cans at our high school, and it was torn in such a way that the only other visible thing was a phone number. We called. We had to know what business understood our love for bacon. Outlook Farm understood, and they mailed us some bumper stickers.
Approximately 5 years later my boyfriend took me out for brunch to a little farm/cafe that he's always liked. As I was sitting there eating an amazing sandwich I saw those bumper stickers. Fate had finally brought us together! I was so excited to be there. I took more bumper stickers.
This isn't just a review, this is a love story. A few years after the brunch incident the boyfriend and I were planning our wedding. We decided that we'd invite other people to watch us say nice things and dance awkwardly and yes, you guessed it, we'd all eat together, too. Outlook Farm catered, and they did a bangin' job feeding 100 people in the middle of the woods.
Outlook Farm clearly has some sort of magical pull on me, as 3 months after the wedding we bought a house 5 minutes away. Now I go there just about every week. Fresh produce, quality meat, the best apple cider, random things that I don't feel like driving to Big Y for, live music, and I've even done a wine tasting with Santa. I highly recommend the cottage bacon - it will change your life.
So, 5 stars for Outlook Farm. Thanks for always...
Read moreHORRID place! DO NOT go here to pick apples. If you are thinking about it TURN AROUND AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! We went there today and they have miles of orchard and they limited us to EIGHT trees to pick from...along the super busy road! There were tons of people there and the trees were picked bare so we had to pretty much climb the trees to get some apples. My daughter who is 8 years old wandered off a little into an area where there were turkeys. We were taking pics of them and just watching them when one of the workers came over and she started screaming at us at the top of her lungs that those apples weren't supposed to be picked (we weren't picking the apples just watching the turkeys). Another worker came over and he started yelling at us too. He was walking towards us waving his arms screaming at the top of his lungs. They scared my daughter so bad she cried until we left :( The apples we picked weren't even good. Terrible flavor. They listed on their website that there were a few varieties of apples that were ready to be picked...the only ones that were available were the Cortland apples even tho the other ones were ripe and ready to be picked. I gave this place a one star rating but it doesn't even deserve that!! They were supposed to have hay rides and nothing. No peaches either. And their ice cream shack had no one there working it. Sadly a waste of time. PLEASE don't believe anything they post on their website cause its clearly NOT TRUE! AND they are super expensive. Save your money and...
Read moreThe baked beans tasted like watered down beans with a little bit of bacon in them they were disgusting and I threw them out. The coleslaw was okay I ate it. The pulled pork had no flavor I had to doctor it up when I got home with barbecue sauce and ketchup, they gave me a stomach ache. The strawberry cupcake looked awesome unfortunately it was stale the cake was hard and the frosting was even harder that was thoroughly disappointing. I used to have a cupcake business and I really thought as pretty as it looked it was going to taste good the person putting it into the box should have been able to feel that it was stale and should have never sold it. I have such a stomach ache and I'm so thoroughly disgusted with the food I think maybe I should throw the Apple dumpling away cuz I'm not sure that's going to go well. The sourdough bread was extremely heavy and hard. I'm hoping the Chala will be a nice breakfast thing. I did buy a couple corn on the cob and a tomato I'm hoping they're fresh...
