Summit Winery absolutely exceedes my expectations! Nestled in the picturesque hills of Westmoreland, this family-owned winery offers both stunning views and exceptional wines. The tasting room is warm and inviting with large windows that showcase the beautiful vineyard and surrounding mountains. I was greeted by knowledgeable staff who guided me through their impressive selection of wines, sharing interesting details about each varietal and their unique winemaking process.
Their signature Cabernet Franc was outstanding - perfectly balanced with notes of dark cherry and a smooth finish. I was also pleasantly surprised by their crisp and refreshing Riesling that captured the distinctive character of New Hampshire's terroir. What truly sets Summit apart is their genuine hospitality. The owners were on-site during my visit and took time to chat about their passion for winemaking in New Hampshire's climate. They've created not just great wines but a wonderful atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
Don't miss their weekend events featuring local musicians and food pairings! Summit Winery is definitely worth a detour if you're anywhere in the Monadnock Region - I'll certainly be back on my next trip...
Read moreWe visited Sept, 2024 to discuss an event for May, 2025. We had a delightful visit with Judy, who showed us around. Pretty setting, charming winery, & we wanted to book. After that we were completely ghosted. We made several attempts over a few months to confirm the date, obtain a contract, pay a deposit, & have a venue. Never a response. We found another venue that was great & probably worked better. If you are planning an event there, our advice is to move on quickly if you can't get them to respond to you. We were so disappointed with the lack of...
Read moreWines were decent, considering most of the grapes are imported. Nothing spectacular as far as taste, but some were good to very good. Stick with the reds or the rose. Stay away from the whites. The overall atmosphere and ambiance was very nice and probably the star of the show. However, be aware that they serve the tastings in plastic medicine type cups and not in glass. This is a big no no to me. Why would you disrespect wine by putting it in plastic cups? It really takes away from the experience and taste. If they got rid of the plastic medicine cups and served in glass instead, this would bring it up to 4 stars. With that being said, if you’re in the area it’s...
