Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by my trip here. My husband and I were passing through on our way to a Valentine's getaway and wanted to try local wine and grab lunch. We decided on Anderson's Winery because they also have live music on the weekends and with Covid, we've missed live music. I'm so glad we came here.
We had four wine flights in total. Their wine was so good that it made it difficult to decide what to try next. I honestly don't think we tried one we didn't like. We took 6 bottles home with us and got a 10% discount for purchasing half of a case!!
We each ordered a panini. I had a Veginator which was delicious although I would have preferred less mustard as it overpowered the savory zucchini. My husband had a Clucking Baconator. He said his was plenty moist even though it didn't have any sauce on it. Gouda came on both of our sandwiches and it really elevated the flavor. So yummy!
The atmosphere here is next level. Everything is clean and well decorated. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The tables are well-spaced and in the center of the room is a wood-burning fireplace. Just the perfect setting for a Valentine's lunch.
It was great to listen to live music again. The musician that played was good and chose a selection of appropriate songs for the setting. He interacted with the crowd in a way that made me feel like he was playing in my livingroom and not in a public place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would love to come back again the next time...
Read moreWe purchased 3 bottles of wine on Saturday. We are traveling through the area so we left the bottles in our truck overnight, lying on their sides in the back seat (unfortunately on top of a decorative rug we purchased earlier in the day). In a position very similar to how they would be stored in a wine rack.
Sunday afternoon as we were about to head out for the day, I noticed a strong odor of wine in the truck. Upon investigation, I discovered that apparently the person who bottled two of the bottles did not cork them before adding the capsule. These 2 bottles leaked all over my new decorative rug and into the carpeting of the truck.
We went 30+ miles out of our way to return the incorrectly sealed bottles to Anderson Winery and are very dissatisfied with the outcome.
In a nutshell, although they admitted their fault in incorrectly sealing the bottles, they offered absolutely no compassion or compensation for our losses except to replace the wine that had ruined my new rug and the carpeting in our truck.
The owner was downright rude to my husband, refusing to compensate us or even apologize for their mistake. For a small local business with brand new ownership this very poor customer service will be their downfall.
Too bad the customer service was so bad, the wine was ok. We...
Read moreI just learned of this place today, so made the hour+ drive over to experience it. Very cute entry and sunroom area! We approached the counter not one but two different staff members didn’t bother to greet us. A third came from out the back, welcomed us, explained the offerings, made recommendations, and took our order. I didn’t get her name, but she made the difference because we were ready to walk out.
While our flights were being prepared, we walked around and laughed at the quirky sayings on the coasters, napkins, and flour sacks.
I enjoyed a white wine tasting flight, and my friend enjoyed a mix of 1.5oz samples. I have no complaints about any of the samples. So delightful! We also had the raspberry slush wine, and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. It was so refreshing for a hot summer day. We also had the hot artichoke dip and one of the flatbreads. DELISH!
We opted to sit outside, and while umbrellas were available, it was nice to soak...
