I really enjoyed myself because for starters the atmosphere was very pleasant. The building and restrooms were extremely clean. The staff members were very friendly starting at the door walking in by the security person speaking and saying, welcome to Victoryland. They asked me was I enjoying myself while playing and wished me good luck. Even though Victoryland is trying to get back to what we all were use too it being, they have a very good amount and selection of machines that are fun to play. I did very well with my winnings only due to the fact that they want you to walk out of there with a little something like before in the day and not feel robbed like some of the other places which I don't HAVE to name. I really enjoyed myself and can't wait until it gets back to where it should be. I had the opportunity to meet and socialize with the owner years ago before he brought Victoryland to life. He told me that he was going to open up a casino and he worked extremely hard to make it happen. That's why I will continue to help keep the doors of this facility open because he was a wonderful person and should ALWAYS be remembered for all of the wonderful things he did to help people with jobs and the community with offering better education opportunities for children. In other words, he loved people and should NEVER be forgotten for little things like that. We should all, that engage in the sport, come back and get this place back up to the level of entertainment that he had gotten it up too! We need to do our part and support Mr. McG and keep his vision alive. I had a wonderful time while I was there and will be...
Read moreI usually go here on the weekends and have a decent time. Tonight was the worst! I was playing having a good time as usual. I went to switch machines and after about 20 seconds I realized I was saturated from sitting in someone else's bodily fluids! Immediately I got up, switched chairs and asked for a manager. One came and left, then came back with a clip board and a complaint form. I had previously explained to her what happened, and that someone else's urine or feces should be treated as infected. I told her that I felt dirty and disgusting! And that I did not live in the area. I told her they should be compensating me a hotel room right at the end of their property the Days Inn so that I could shower and change my clothes. I asked her did I need to wait around and get a copy after the manager signs it and she told me I don't get a copy and that someone will contact me. Really? Wow? I promise you I will not drop another red cent of mine into this place. So now I have a 2.25 hour drive home smelling like someone else's P$&@ and S@&$? Thanks guys for handling this properly. Maybe they don't have a policy on Exposure and contamination? Or one on customer service? The manager wasn't rude but she didn't handle this properly at all or seek guidance. No one likes to sit and drive in their own adult accident, and especially not someone else's! I think Mr. Quincy would be rolling over knowing what happened and what a great...
Read moreAfter reading some of the reviews about this place, I wanted to go just to see if it was just that bad as they say or if it was an exaggeration. When my sister and I first went over the 4th of July holiday, it was dead but picked up some as the afternoon trekked on. They automatically carded us upon entry, which is unusual, but okay. Since it was our first time there we were directed over to the counter. I thought we were getting player cards, like any other casino, instead we were both gifted $50 tickets for being 1st timers to VictoryLand. My sister walked away with an additional ticket for her age being it’s her birthday month. I just thought it was a nice rouse to humor us in getting their money, but we didn’t play any of our own money and walked away with more than half of each voucher. So, we felt good about the place absent of the fact its free to smoke anywhere in there. (Not picky, just asthmatic.)
That said, their machines are nothing like the machines you usually come across. They are kind of knockoffs of what you usually would play at the other casinos, and the playing space isn’t that big in comparison. The staff is pleasant and helpful. While it wouldn’t be worth a special trip just to go there (seeing that it's well pass its glory days), if you happen to be in the area passing through on I-85, and got a little time on your hands, it might be worth...
