It's a beautiful area, but don't expect any serenity when staying at the campground. There were children screaming constantly from 7am to 9pm every single day. After the children would quiet down the adults would get rowdy. We could hear multiple campsites playing music so loud after 9pm that we could hear all of the lyrics and they were at least 10 campsites away from us. Quiet hours are supposed to begin at 10pm, but multiple people were blaring music until at least 12am. The host/park rangers, should have policed this behavior better. We camped right next to the host and noticed that they gave everyone the stink eye when they walked past. You'd think if you were going to be a campground host you would at least be cordial. The trip would have been better if the campground had separated the sites so that the non-electrical sites were separated from the RV/electrical sites so that the non-electrical patrons weren't forced to listen to generators constantly. We will stick with lesser known campgrounds in the future. It seems like, because this is the most popular state park in Washington, a lot of people choose to camp here that most likely don't camp often because not one person knew what "camping...

Absolutely one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever visited!
We stayed at Deception Pass State Park with our motorcycle and a tent, and it was an unforgettable experience. The campground is surrounded by stunning nature , tall trees, lush greenery, and endless birdsong that creates a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. The sound of the birds never stopped, and it blended in a surprisingly beautiful way with the naval flights maneuvering in the sky, adding a unique character to the place. Be mindful if you don't want to camp somewhere that has this flight sounds interruption all the long its better to reconsider or just stop for a day use.
The sunset was breathtaking, vibrant colors reflecting off the water and filtering through the trees. We didn’t have a reservation, and were lucky to be accommodated for 1 night. The price was $43 for one tent and one motorcycle.
If you’re traveling on two wheels or just love camping in places where nature truly shines, Deception Pass is not to be missed. Day use pass is $10 if you don't want to stay overnight.

Read moreStayed at cranberry lake in late August 2024. Park is well maintained with volunteers on top of things in a timely fashion. Park store was great for some decent souvenirs. The park itself encompasses quite a bit of area and a vehicle to travel to them all is a good idea. Trails were all maintained and suited for families. Lots of activities going on in the summer for young kids to learn and explore about the park. Kids saw sea otters, seals and even an elephant seal. Overall our week spent here was amazing and we'll be back.
Travelling with 2 kids, a dog and a 24' TT. Sites have a mix of power, up to 50 amps and water. 2 dump stations also in the park for emptying out before you hit the road. Showers with hot water for free, flush toilets and we'll kept washrooms in general were also a plenty in the cranberry lake campground. Rangers were all happy people with smiles on there face and...
