Thagard Lake Park — Attraction in Whispering Pines

As nice as this is, do not go unless you are a resident of Whispering pines! Where I am from, lakes are for everyone to enjoy, though here it is not the case Was approached by a police officer who asked if I was a resident. When I responded that I technically lived just over the line, he said it was for Whispering pines tax payers only and if "outsiders" were frequently using it, there wouldn't be anyplace for residents to park I have taken my grandkids there several times and there was probably a total of 6 people swimming, all of the times combined. Maybe they aught to charge for parking as a way to generate money and they could add it to their speed...

My daughter and friends were given a “warning” that the lake was for Whispering Pines residents only! The warning will stay on file for a year and if they return, they will be ticketed. They need to have visible signage or charge a fee or something. How uppity can you be? Glad we moved to a place parks are for everyone. Yes, I know upkeep has a cost. So why not charge a parking fee. It is under utilized by whispering pines residents so let others contribute and be able to...

This is a beautifully kept & well maintained waterfront park. We enjoy it all throughout the summertime. The picnic & grills area is always clean (as people clean up after themselves)& great for enjoying the summer day out of the sun. Also has lights & electric outlets. Although there are no bathrooms facility, there IS a port-a-potty. Pavillion can even be reserved for parties & events (at no charge) by Whispering Pines...
