Hugh Rogers Wag Park — Attraction in Whitefish

LOVE this dog park. It seriously offers some of the best views of Flathead Valley in all of Whitefish.

It’s huge, plenty of space to run and be free. There is a paved walking trail that loops throughout. There is an amazing, beautifully landscaped pond that’s fun on hot days. They even have a washing station to rinse your beast off after he’s gotten dirty.

There provide ample poop bags and garbage cans throughout. They recently remolded their agility park. I have a mini dachshund so don’t get to take much advantage of that but other dogs seem to love it.

Just this past season they paved the parking area which is HUGE. It was a gravel pot hole disaster. Not anymore!

Most owners are smart and have well behaved dogs. I have had a run in once with an obviously aggressive dog with a careless owner. The dog ended up attacking my dachshund and we had to make a trip to the vet for a sliced lip and bloody nose from inner damage. As road warriors I have been to many dog parks and this so far is my number 1 dog park in the US because it hits the three crucial points for me. Nice space with amenities, friendly dogs and good owners. Every time we are in the area we come here a ton!

There are different areas fenced off. A large dog space, small dog space (behind large dog area) and a pond area. The large dog area is really spacious and includes the pond as well as a small creek, plenty of poop bags, shaded areas, fresh water station, dog course and a large picnic shelter. Outside the dog spaces near the restrooms is a dog wash station and the restrooms.

I see very few owners separate their small dogs which is always nice as my dog is large but prefers smaller dogs (less intimidating to him 🤭). Regardless he loves this park because all the dogs are amazing, friendly and well socialized and the owners...

I think this is my favorite dog park ever! It has lots of large grassy areas for furry friends to run. There is a separate swimming area for them to cool off. You can also wash your dog in summer weather if you want to have a clean friend to get back in your car. The scenic mountain views of nearby Glacier Park are breathtaking! There are lots of other things to do nearby in the town of Whitefish. There is a beautiful skate park right next door, also nearby walking trails as well. Don't miss a chance to visit this dog park.
