I asked the bartender for a half gallon of the original and he proceeds to fill up a quart. When I pressed for the half gallon I asked for, he pointed at the half gallon jug and said "that's our gallon, I'm giving you half". Realizing what caliber of person this was, I paid for the smallest half gallon of my life and it remains an inside joke at our house. Please review standard weights and measures.
The cider needs to be wine whipped to gas out quite a bit to avoid off flavors, and try to avoid letting it sit on the lees as long as it did this year.
