We've biked this trail at least 5 times now, and really love the length of it and the ability to get away from the city while not having to drive too far. It is a very long bike path, we typically do about 18 - 24 miles depending on we're feeling, but I believe this is a 40 mile bike path if not longer now. It is extremely well maintained and a very smooth ride as long as you get on past Manayunk. The Manayunk area is all gravel, but well maintained gravel at least and of finer grain than legit rocks. It is mostly gradual up and down hill, with a few strenuous areas. There are also many points you can get on this trail. One huge struggle for me is that they don't have public restrooms anywhere on the trail from what I know, and when you're biking 20+ miles a bathroom stop is really nice to have. I also really wish they would encourage more places like Consohoken brewery to get close to the trail... there'd be more...
