We have hiked this twice. The first time we went it was me and my fiancé and we hiked to the waterfall. It was beautiful and the hike wasn’t that bad. The second time we went we hiked up to the top of high rock. It was me my fiancé and my 13 year old daughter. It was VERY stranious to say the least. It’s very rocky, and alot of uphill slopes. You will have to have a hiking stick for either trail cause there are spots were you can’t get traction and near the creeks is very slick. It’s a beautiful hike but I suggest hiking shoes and if you don’t have a hiking stick find a sturdy stick in the woods to use. It can be dangerous it many spots so your going to want to get there early so you have plenty of time and bring lots of water.

A beautiful hike in Southeast Kentucky. This hike takes you on an adventure you'll never forget and will have you wanting to return. From the top of the mountain that makes you feel as if your on top of the world to the beautiful waterfall that you could sit and watch all day. The views on the trails are some of the best in the area as well. Be sure if you do this hike to make sure its raind a few days before you go so the falls will be full. I've seen them full strength and I've seen them just a trickle. But a must hike if your in the area!

Very beautiful place with a beautiful view!!! The hike up was a little difficult but nothing too bad. The only thing, is that getting to the actual falls was a little confusing. We followed the falls sign and then there was another sign that said trail, but you couldn't tell exactly where to go. There's a side that's boarded up and then some stairs and that's the way to go to the falls. The hike was 2.2 miles and took about 1 hour and 23 minutes to complete. Not counting the time spent at the falls.

Don’t get me wrong, the hike to the waterfall was great, but the signs are wrong and terribly off with the miles. We were supposed to be taking the trail to the top of the waterfall but ended up on what we thought was the loop and back trail. Turns out, that was wrong as well. We kept going until we get to another sign that put us back towards the road called Pine Mountain trail. It took us FOREVER to get to the bottom and when we did, we found another sign in sheet that said the trail was 17 Miles. We walked 17+ miles when the signs were saying 3.2. For someone with a heart/ fluid disorder, I was not prepared for such a long hike and didn’t bring enough water and...
