2 mile tunnel through the nountain heading towards Whittier. (Away as well, I guess, depending on perspective). It only runs one way, so you may want to check the schedule. I believe it opens to traffic on the hour headed into Whittier, and on the half hour headed from Whittier. If you get caught and have to wait it is a good time to read about the history of the tunnel as it is a pretty good story (or preload the page before you get here as Internet access probably isn't going to work here).
