Eastern Portal of the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel — Attraction in Whittier

2 mile tunnel through the nountain heading towards Whittier. (Away as well, I guess, depending on perspective). It only runs one way, so you may want to check the schedule. I believe it opens to traffic on the hour headed into Whittier, and on the half hour headed from Whittier. If you get caught and have to wait it is a good time to read about the history of the tunnel as it is a pretty good story (or preload the page before you get here as Internet access probably isn't going to work here). What a cool experience. The entrance to the tunnel is absolutely gorgeous. One of the best picture spots of our trip. It's a must. The tunnel itself is quite interesting as it's a one-way tunnel that is shared by both trains and cars. I've never seen anything like it.
