Park at top of Turnbull Canyon rd and not at the bottom or you will get a ticket. The other option is street parking near Hellman Park. The trail has some shade in the Canyon but very exposed at top of Turnbull Canyon. It is a steady climb to the top of the Canyon and then an easy trail along the ridges. You can connect with many trails in the area if you want a longer hike. At the top there are good views of Los Angeles and San Bernardino Mountain ranges. Did not see too many people on the trails. Mostly neighbors getting their daily exercises. It is pretty in the Spring, but hot and dry in Summer.

Avoid parking here at all costs! It is known to be prone to smash-and-grab car robberies (it happened to me). The best policy when you park anywhere in public is to not leave anything that may look valuable in sight, but don't rely on the rationality of petty thieves. Yes, it is a nice area to hike, especially when the hills are green, but save yourself the potential heartache...
